Really bad adaptation of the show, they removed scenes and butchered the personalities

Its... fine. Ive been a long time fan of the show and there are some contradictions and weird character difference moments but its ok. The art is really cool tho
It's a bit of a rough start, but not nearly as bad as some make it out to be. As an adaptation it suffers from pacing issues and some changes to scenes/their absence do mess with the characterization and the more emotional parts of the story. That said the art is gorgeous and it's most certainly an enjoyable read despite the flaws in how the story was adapted. Could be better, especially with more pages, but its far from being a travesty or anything of the sort. Wouldn't reccomend it over the show, but as a BIG Murder Drones fan I'm happy with it as supplementary material.
Complete garbage and character assassination slop. Wish I’d kept my $30 cause now I want a refund.
From a fan who saw the show on day one... I'm not even going to say anything, there are so many errors and contradictions with the story that at first I found it funny.
At least the art is good.
While there are some changes I disagree with, this comic does a good job with a majority of the art, and I do like some of the changes to the story. Despite me saying this, I would still highly recommend watching Murder Drones on YouTube before deciding to purchase this.
It was one of the worst issue to be for real with y'all. I had a whole wall of text of review on other site and I lost it, so to summarize: Bad pacing, bad scene skips, bad color shading, bad art (mostly the lips), zero correlation between panels, character butchering, and bad changes.
Can't wait to read part 2. Great job for the creators!
numerous issues, but most importantly, mischaracterization and missing/messed up (usually important) scenes. the only thing that gets points from me is the art. really disappointed as someone who murder drones means a lot to.
It's an ok start to the comic but it has the same problems as the show to a much higher degree and removes or alters some of the most iconic scenes in the show and while I liked some of the ideas some of them also go directly against who the characters are
All-in-all, this isn't a terrible start to the series. I have a few tiny quibbles with Jo Mi-Gyeong's art, but I don't feel the need to voice them here because her work overall is genuinely good, putting real effort into capturing the tone and mood of the original show. (Same goes for Joana LaFuente's coloring, which is equally important on that front.)
The biggest problem with the issue is its pacing - a half-hour episode cannot be squished into 20 pages without making some significant sacrifices, and unfortunately not every cut made here is insignificant. A couple sequences are abridged down to a single panel (like Uzi sneaking out of the bunker or N's rampage in the bunker), which works well enough - they cut to the chase without compromising anything too critical to the story. Other scenes, however, end up suffering - Murder Drones is the kind of show where fleeting, seemingly insignificant moments are important to fleshing out the characters or setting up future plot developments, and this issue does not benefit from cutting them out. The worst example is Khan chickening out and leaving Uzi to die, which gets trimmed down so far that it loses all of its emotional impact and ends up looking like an insensitive gag. A close second would be the scene where V & J meet with N right after he "kills" Uzi - the changes made there open up plot holes and go against certain characters' original personalities (in a bad way).
In spite of my criticisms, though, I can't bring myself to say it's outright bad. Frankly I think the initial fandom reaction was overblown, even if I agree with a lot of their points overall.
Murder drones is by far one of may favorite online series ever! I am so happy to see a comic version of the beloved series.
Vol.1 is true to the series with amazing art that not only stays true to the animation but builds more on top of the already great designs.
Murder Drones has easily become one of my most favorite shows of all time. Though the comic has a bit of a rocky start, I’m very excited to see what else the series has in store. Definitely worth the read if you’ve watched the original show, but if you haven’t, go watch it first before reading these comics so you can get the full experience.
The Murder Drones series it's the best series I've ever watched, I loved every single part of it. This comic really makes a good adaptation of the series with an amazing art. Loved it
This comic was one of the best ones I read, I love the artwork and the script, I hope the story arc follows the same direction and don't get diverted from the main characters.
Really enjoyable all throughout and a great retelling of episode 1
The art is beautiful, jokes are great as always and the characters are just as fun as they are in the show
Excited to read the rest ^-^
The pacing is questionable, but its a fair comic adaptation of the series. It has it's own problems just like the show itself.
