.. Japan knows better than most what nuclear weapons mean. The US used them to end a world war not start one and then helped rebuild your country into a prosperous democracy and close ally.
Iran’s regime has spent 40+ years chanting ‘Death to America’ and ‘Death to Israel,’ funding terrorism worldwide, and racing toward nuclear weapons while denying it. That’s not ‘deterrence’ that’s a theocratic dictatorship openly calling for genocide and global jihad.
Nuclear-armed democracies with a track record of restraint aren’t the same as apocalyptic regimes that execute dissidents, stone women, and arm proxies to attack civilians. The world is safer when bad actors are prevented from getting the ultimate weapon, not when we pretend all nuclear powers are equivalent.
