They changed and moved a lot of plot points for season 1 and I genuinely love it - I feel like it sets them up to go through the rest of the series really strong. But if they rush there’s no way for them to do it without causing some disappointment. It honestly impresses me a lot! There’s so much going on with everyone’s relationships since it’s a real test of ideals the whole way through. It’s tense! It’s good! There’s so much love between everyone in a purely platonic way that I don’t often see written so well. They care! They want each other to be happy and safe! And that’s just not an easy thing to have in the story, so much is at stake and the bar just keeps rising from the opening onwards. Having finished Trimax I actually really agree! There's so little in the way of any romance - everything just feels like going with the core theme of people's lives touching other people's lives, and trying to make something good. I was actually surprised because again from fanart and stuff I assumed there'd be way more gay longing, but while the emotions felt strong they didn't feel overly romantic (I mean they could be taken that way but it didn't feel like that was the only way they could be taken). Super excited to see where Stampede takes the ideas and the themes - I'm already liking how Stampede seems to be trying to give Meryl more importance and agency. She really felt like she got lost in the shuffle in Trimax, so I hope that they try to avoid that in Stampede. 14

I think it’s worth the watch after you finish reading trimax. It’s not one to one on the manga parts it does cover but it’s a fun watch. I’ve seen it noted too that some people like the 98’ anime bc the fights are easier to follow since as you mentioned the manga gets very stylized and hard to follow during fights, tho I do feel it gets better- or maybe I just got used to the way it was drawn? As a final note I will say that both Vash and Wolfwood act considerably more flirty with women in 98’ I think as a side effect of media writing of the time, but it’s not in a way that really detracts from them as characters? just something to adjust to. And Meryl and Milly get a lot of fun screen time which is nice. Oh interesting!!! I might have to give it a shot! I just finished trimax last night and it was good, but also I just feel really open to different interpretations of the story. Trimax feels ambitious but I don't think it quite nailed everything it wanted to (it was really good though! I just think the author struggled to maintain all the characters!) I also figured out one of the reasons that Trimax was giving me such a hard time with readability - the authors' word bubbles don't usually have the little lines that show who's talking so I was really having a hard time in some scenes to tell who was talking lol. 11
