AS THOUSANDS of runners prepare for the London Marathon this Sunday, a massive price war has broken out a major Garmin running smartwatch.

This big-brand wearable has plummeted in cost – with one major retailer offering the best price.

Garmin’s Forerunner 165 wearable has been reduced in cost by a range of UK stores

The Garmin Forerunner 165 has been reduced by multiple stores, with some deals offering the tech for much less than its usual £249 RRP.

While retailers often settle on a shared sale price when they get locked into price wars, it pays to shop around.

Most of the high street is hovering around the same mark, but the cheapest price by a long shot right now is at Amazon, where you can save nearly £90.

  • Amazon, £162.99, was £249 – buy here
  • Decathlon, £189.99, was £249 – buy here
  • Argos, £199.99, was £249 – buy here
  • John Lewis, £199.99, was £249 – buy here

Let’s be honest: not everyone reading this is a dedicated marathon pro. I’m certainly not.

But with the weather finally getting warmer and sunnier, I’ve been out running a lot more than usual.

I’ll admit, I was always sceptical about smartwatches and all those reams of metrics and data – but since I reviewed a rival device I’ve become a total convert.

Trust me, if you need some easy motivation to get you committing to those evening 5km runs, it’s a wearable that charts your performance and improvement.
