If someone is against any solution that involves Israel continuing to exist, and if they’re willing to see the wars continue indefinitely until Israel is destroyed, then they are not pro-Palestine. They are anti-Israel.
They are willing to see suffering continue forever until the enemy they hate is destroyed, and any other road to peace doesn’t count. It doesn’t matter to them if Palestinian lives are improving right now because of the ceasefire. They often don’t even acknowledge there IS a ceasefire.
That’s why I call these people “anti-Israel”, not pro-Palestine. I’M pro-Palestinian! I want no more Palestinian deaths! I want a Palestinian state! I want Palestinians to have the same self-determination Israelis do. I want the illegal settlements to be disbanded. I want Gaza rebuilt. I want peace and prosperity between Israel and Palestine.
But crucially, I don’t have “the destruction of Israel” as a prerequisite for any of the above, which means it’s something that is actually achievable in the real world.
And that’s the final problem with the anti-Israel crowd, and why they aren’t pro-Palestinian: Israel isn’t going to be destroyed. Period. It’s just not happening. And they KNOW this. Their end-goal isn’t possible. Which means what they actually want is just…endless suffering. Suffering for Palestinians, suffering for Israelis, suffering for everyone.
