WHO IS CHIBI REVIEWS?
Chibi Reviews is a nearly 500,000 subscriber YouTube channel ran by Jacob "Jake" W. Seibers, also known as Chibi Otaku. His channel was created in 2013 where he originally reviewed anime episodes. Sounds innocent enough right?? WRONG. Keep scrolling friend.
THE GRIFT MACHINE
His channel today is mainly about anime news and GRIFTING to get the approval of larger commentary channels and their viewers. The man has NO opinions of his own. He constantly changes his views based on whatever the bigger channels in his sphere are saying (usually Asmongold). Imagine having 500k subscribers and still not having a single original thought lmao
THE GREAT AI FLIP-FLOP
Jacob used to be anti-AI, or at least skeptical of it. He even defended translators, mostly in the anime field. That was until Asmongold made his video against anime translators. After that? He completely changed his view to match Asmongold's position. Just like that. Overnight. No spine detected.
THE PATREON BEGGING ARC (2017)
In 2017, Jacob made a video begging his audience to subscribe to his Patreon because he supposedly could not afford food among other necessities. "Guys please I cant afford to eat" - man surrounded by $10,000 worth of anime figurines But wait... it gets better (worse).
THE SPENDING CONTRADICTION
This "cant afford food" story seems to contradict his consuming spending habits: - Living surrounded by useless, overpriced figurines - Walls FULL of manga and anime - Posters of anime girls hanging around his house - STILL BUYING MORE while supposedly starving He has made MULTIPLE videos showing the sheer extent of his collection while supposedly not having enough money for food. Option A: He puts his anime collection above basic needs like food Option B: He lied to his audience to squeeze more Patreon money out of them Either way its not a good look chief
