Why I Quit Bug Bounty Hunting :(

It was purely my experience, I respect other bug bounty hunters :)

When I first started bug bounty hunting, I was excited. The idea of finding bugs in real-world systems and getting rewarded for it sounded like the perfect way to practice cybersecurity and earn some cash. But after spending a lot of time on it, I made the decision to step away. Here’s why:

1. It Takes a Lot of Time for Little Reward

At first, I thought I would quickly find bugs, submit them, and earn rewards. But the reality was much different. There are thousands of skilled bug hunters out there, and the competition is really tough.

Many times, I would spend hours or days searching, only to find that someone else had already reported the same issue before me. Even when I found bugs, some weren’t considered important enough to get paid.

I started feeling like I was putting in way more time than I was getting back in rewards. Even got few bugs which were either duplicate or marked as informative. For reference, I’m adding one of my submission which was marked as informative.
