Cobar High School
Cobar High School is located in outback NSW in the mining town of Cobar, population 5024. The nearest regional centre is Dubbo approximately 300 kilometres east. Employment rate is approximately 96.5% with over 50% of those employed, working in the mining industry. Cobar High School is a small co-educational, comprehensive high school catering for students from Year 7 through to Year 12. Cobar High School has a student population of 275 of whom 21% identify as Aboriginal and 4.5% as from a Non-English Speaking Background. Family Occupation and Educational Index (FOEI) of 118 is in the average range. A highly educated and dedicated teaching staff provide both educational and extra-curricular activities for students. LED Upgrade
The $157.8 million LED Lighting Upgrade Program will install new LED lights in up to 1,000 public schools across NSW. This means reduced operating costs for schools and improved learning environments and outcomes for our students.

Maintenance
To ensure the safety, reliability and longevity of our schools, every school across NSW receives maintenance. The Department undertakes preventative and routine maintenance every year, and repairs as needed. The Department also reviews the planned maintenance program for each school every year and reviews those items that are predicted to require work to help prolong the life of the school buildings and facilities.
