弓道経験者だけど、現在の和弓はでかくて射程が短くて精度が低いという武器としてはお話にならない代物なので（なにしろ射程はモンゴル弓の1/10以下である）、全く儀礼的なものとみるべきだろうし、本当に2000年前からあってこのありさまなんだとしたら、よほど我らが祖先は愚鈍だったのだろう。

Kyudo, meaning "Way of the Bow," developed during the Edo period (1603–1868), was named in 1919, and standardized in 1953 by the All Nippon Kyudo Federation. The samurai class emerged in the 12th century (~900 years ago), not 2000 years ago.
