Notice

The soyjak.party administration have expressed that they do not wish for threads to be mass-archived. I respect this and have ceased operation of the archive.

The ability to post whatever you like, anonymously, without having it stored indefinitely in a database somewhere for future (ab)use, is very liberating and becoming exceedingly rare online. I don't want the sharty to lose that.

I'm perfectly fine with people manually archiving threads of significance with tools like archive.today. That's the model [soyjak.party] has today, and I think it's the perfect middle ground between privacy and preservation.

What I'm not comfortable with is having every single post scraped and stored in a database for easy searching. Doubly so with the rise of LLMs making it extremely easy to sift through large swaths of data. 4chan archives are already frequently used for stalking, and LLM-based approaches like https://arxiv.org/abs/2602.16800 - Large-scale online deanonymization with LLMs - are going to make that much worse in the near future.
