The Galaxy a17 5g 128/4 is available from hsn.com for a limited time for $99.99 with a Tracfone talk/text/data bundle and one year of Tracfone service. Tracfone's unlocking rule as of January is that phones must be activated for one year before unlocking. It used to be 60 days.

Anonymous, 28 Mar 2026the specs look so good :)Not according to some of the reviews I've read. The processor is older and slower, and it really is best to avoid the 4GB RAM version in order to try and mitigate the inevitable stuttery performance, especially with regards to multi-tasking.

Mine definitely has 4G+ (LTE-A).
Not sure why gsmarena does not specify whether the device has it or not, just mentioned about 4G/LTE only.

My work colleague has a 4/128 A16 5G and it's not very responsive. Thought about getting the A17 5G myself, since the price is really good (screen, as well). But... dunno. I mean, sure, if you plan to use it for 1 or 2 years, it could be OK. But it could be a better idea to change phones every 2 years and buy cheap stuff? Like, I'll get the A17 and replace it with A19. I could still get a decent resale price for my A17 and, maybe, the A19 will bring 6 GB RAM as base model. Maybe even ARM v9 cores (2xA720 + 6xA520). Would like that, I would.

You would see that these games will keep losing fps as time goes by with the E1330 chip. It will have problems running demanding applications for longer period or just have a short bust of high performance due to it developing heat or throttling back. Remember I'm basing this on my experience with my former device, the Galaxy A14 5G that uses the same chipset. I only realize the shortcomings of my last device when my current device, the Dimensity 7030 powered Motorola Edge 40 Neo, which is doing much better in almost everything including heat management. It will have some people say that Mediatek chipsets do get hot, but nothing is compare to what i get from my last device.

Bought 4G variant with 4/128, very disappointed can't handle more than 3 apps as it closes the other or will crash when relaunching the other app, Get the 6 GB ram variant.

This phone is horrible. Do not buy it. It does not work. It doesn't process. My phone completely crashed after it opened up a second app and the screen just goes black and now it's green and horrible and I just don't want to use this fucking phone again, do not buy.

Raghav, 31 Dec 2025Samsung Galaxy M17 5G - unable to place/receive calls or us... moreI'm not sure if you figured this issue out, but you can go to your connection settings and turn off the 5G option, even if your carrier says you receive 5G access, your location might not have the appropriate towers and it will cause the issues your having. If that doesn't work, you need a replacement. I just went through this a couple of weeks ago.
