Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) is a satirical surrealist black comedy-drama film directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu and produced by Regency Enterprises.
The film follows Riggan Thomson, a fading Hollywood actor famous for his past superhero role of Birdman, as he attempts a Broadway comeback to prove his artistic relevance. While dealing with ego, demanding castmates, and his cynical daughter, Riggan is haunted by his superhero alter-ego's voice and imaginary powers.
