To whoever answered this just know that I'm so sorry that safe sexual kinks are so demonized that even in fiction, which is fiction so anything is fair as long as in the notes there's no actual romantization of abuse, you have to say shoot me as to make it a joke. And I hope we can evolve socially to stop this.
“we need to stop the stigma towards drug users and addicts” and “we need to challenge the idea that being sober makes you boring” and “we need to stop acting like binge drinking to the extent you’re doing medical damage is fun and normal for young people” are all ideas that can and should coexist.
just so we’re clear, the threshold for “binge drinking to the extent you’re doing medical damage” is waaaay lower than you think.
I work in an obstetrician and gynaecologist’s office. we have to tell patients on a regular basis that they are binge drinking weekly when they think they are simply consuming a normal amount of alcohol on the weekends.
having more than 3 drinks in a single sitting if you have an estrogen based endocrine system is a binge that is medically significant.
having more than 5 in a sitting is a medically significant binge for someone with a testosterone based endocrine system.
every time you do this, it significantly impacts your risk of getting breast cancer, and damages your liver. it takes time to recover from that liver damage. if you’re having a 3-5 or more drink binge on a weekly basis, you are an alcoholic, medically speaking, and your liver is not recovering.
again: the bar for what binge drinking is, medically, is so much lower than what you think it is.
alcohol is a really toxic substance and not something you should fuck around with.
again: if you have an estrogenized hormone system (common for most women), then 3 drinks is a binge. if you have a testosteronized hormone system (common for most men), then 5 drinks is a binge.
anything above that number, consumed as frequently as weekly or more, and you’re medically a binge drinking alcoholic.
also, if you’re drinking any quantity of alcohol 6 days a week or more, that’s another threshold at which, medically speaking, you meet the definition of alcoholism. your liver needs more days without alcohol in your system than just one a week to recover and be healthy.
I don’t say any of this to shame anyone—to me, alcoholism or substance use disorders aren’t a sign of weakness or moral failing. and most of us genuinely don’t know this stuff.
rather—I point this out because it’s important to reduce harm, and find ways to live healthier, happier lives. there is a life outside of constant binge drinking. it’s not always easy to find it. but it’s out there. you deserve a life where your emotional needs are met by something other than alcohol, and a life in which your liver is healthy, and the ways you cope and celebrate and find joy don’t put you at increased risk of cancer.
also–even if alcohol is the only way you can self-medicate, or if you choose to go on with your alcohol usage anyway regardless of other options–you still deserve to know what it’s doing to your body.
information is key. you don’t have to stop drinking, but the utter lack of education on alcohol + the normalization of binge drinking in current society leads to many people drinking without any idea of what it’s doing to their bodies.
addicts deserve accurate medical information regardless of what they decide to do with it. for some people, losing liver function is worth the benefits they get from binge drinking, but they can’t make that choice if they don’t know what the consequences are to begin with.
addicts deserve accurate medical information regardless of what they decide to do with it. Can someone tell me the definition of one drink in this context?
Because a vodka shot is not the same as (idk, some low alcohol percentage alcohol.)
So, what does 3 (or 5) drinks mean.
0.6 ounces of alcohol is a standard drink. Examples include 12 ounces of 5% alcohol beer, or 1.5 ounces of 40% alcohol liquor.
if you are like me and numbers slide off your brain like water off a ducks back, you can use this Standard Drink Calculator to out how much you are drinking.
Oohhh the federal government wants to know my gender and orientation sooooo badly
Bitter sarcasm aside, I'm gonna go ahead and risk sounding a little paranoid here:
I want to show people what food/financial assistance forms have been asking since trump was elected. They've refined the questions now -at the beginning of 2025 the first question was "Do you use any pronouns?"[sic]- and I feel like that's worse, since at the beginning at least it let you know immediately who was asking and why. The way it sounds friendly and supportive now is even more sinister.
I cannot stress enough that these questions were not asked before 2025. The first time I renewed since they went into effect was over the phone, so I was able to ask point blank why they needed to know, and was told that it was now required by the government -so no, this isn't just a liberal state trying to be more inclusive. There isn't and never was a legitimate need to know this information in order to provide benefits. This is solely to keep track of queer people. I'd also like to point out that they are required to list your assigned sex, and you cannot edit that field. So even if I listed myself as boy/man without stating that I'm trans, it would out me, and that's the intention. There's also a huge detailed list of race and ethnicity options now that really do everything to try to get hyper specific answers out of you, including if you're jewish and what kind (I'd recommend not answering any of that either, btw)
They also waited until the forms were fully filled out and being submitted before informing me (in a footnote) that sexual orientation is protected on a state level but not federal. Not just gender identity, orientation.
The absolute mildest ramifications of collecting this data could be the administration using it to claim that queer people are disproportionately draining government resources and add more fuel to our persecution. The fine print states that this info can all be requested and accessed by various government agencies for several purposes including making arrests. I'm begging all of you to refuse to answer any demographic questions you can on forms like this, no matter how tempting or validating it seems to have such detailed options to acknowledge your identity, because it is purely a trap. The government DOES NOT need to know how you identify, and there is no plausible benefit to telling them.
By the way if you aren't queer or nonwhite at all, it's still in all of our best interests if you refuse to answer these questions as well. If only vulnerable minorities refuse to identify themselves, then it's easy to assume that "Don't want to answer" means queer/nonwhite, and that helps expose us.
First post here. Thought i would make a sfth sideblog because i feel like its just too different from my other intrests (+i feel a bit embarassed when posting about sfth on main. Dunno why)
Anonymous asked:
Do you have any resources or tips on avoiding pericisnormative language?
My 15 main tips would be:
1- Don't call any presentation inherently feminine or masculine. It all depends on culture and personal interpretation, especially since a lot of presentations (neutrality, nullity, xeninity, certain forms of outherinity, aporinity, etc) don't have any "traditional" appearances/gender roles due to severe erasure.
2- Don't call any sex traits inherently feminine or masculine.
3- Use androgenizing instead of "masculinizing", estrogenizing instead of "feminizing", and androestrogenizing instead of "androgynous."
4- Don't use "female" and "male" when referencing sex traits.
5- Use actual words for anatomy instead of "female anatomy" and "male anatomy", because not all perisex people have the same anatomy, and intersex people can have the same anatomy as a perisex person. Say mullerian duct (or the individual parts, such as cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, etc), wolffian duct (or the individual parts, such as testicles, vas deferens, seminal vesicles, prostate,) ambiguous reproductive duct (or individual parts also seen in mullerian ducts and wolffian ducts), ovotestes, vulva (or individual parts, such as labia minora, labia majora, clitoris, vagina, urethra,) penis (or individual parts, such as scrotum, phallus, urethra), urogenital sinus, cloaca, ambiguous genitalia (or individual parts, such as clitorophallus, labioscrotum, or previously listed traits also seen in vulvas and penises), breasts, increased muscle mass, thickened vocal cords, etc.
6- Don't equate SPETE to AFAB and SPETA to AMAB, as intersex people can be AFAB/AMAB (and cultural genders that do not follow AGAB exist even for perisex people.) Remember that AGAB is just a single letter/word on a birth certificate, and doesn't reflect how many intersex people are actually raised and/or reassigned a gender later in life.
7- Say "natal sex traits" (for sex traits people developed during fetal development or puberty) and "altered sex traits" (for sex traits people developed from HRT or surgery). Do not say "natural sex traits" or "artificial sex traits."
8- Don't forget about cistrans and detransitioning/retransitioning people, pericisgender =/= "kept their natal sex traits."
9- Don't use the intersexist h-slur or fu-slur. Also learn the difference [link] between perisex, cosexual, dualsex, and intersex.
10- Be cautious in how you use terms like "passing", because a lot of it relies on the idea that you can "tell" who is trans or cis, and who is perisex and intersex. Read more on that here [link.]
11- Don't call non-binary people "they/thems", as it's depersonalizing and not all non-binary people use they/them (and not all binary men use he/him, and not all binary women use she/her.) Use the terms enban/enby (singular), enben/enbies (plural), or even just "non-binary people."
12- Remember that man =/= binary man, woman =\= binary woman, and that non-binary people can be aligned with manhood and womanhood.
13- Remember transfem and transmasc =/= trans man and trans women, and that feminine genders unaligned with womanhood and masculine genders unaligned with manhood exist. Also don't forget people who are androgynous, neutral, null, genderless, xenine, outherine, aporine, multigender, multitransitional, or unlabeled/unaligned.
14- Remember transfem =/= AMAB and transmasc =/= AFAB. People could be transitioning from binary womanhood to nonbinary femininity, binary manhood to nonbinary masculinity, be intersex and/or perisex with a cultural gender/sex and have an experience that isn't "aligned" with their AGAB, be plural with innerworld experiences that aren't "aligned" with their AGAB, etc.
15- Don't label every single non-binary relationship as sapphic or achillean (and don't use the terms yuri/yaoi unless they are woman-aligned or man-aligned, as the terms are used synonymously with "girl love" and "boy love.") Use enby-specific terms sometimes (you can find some here [link] ). Some enbies identify as sapphic/achillean, but the problem is that a lot of enbies don't want to use those terms, so labelling every single relationship with an enban as sapphic/achillean contributes to the erasure of enban-specific terminology.

TLDR: Puerto Rico is NOT a part of the United States .
I see a lot of well meaning Americans saying things along the lines of "Um HELLO, Puerto Rico IS a part of the United States! They're Americans, too!" in the context of criticizing racism towards Puerto Rico e.g. Bad Bunny performing at the Superbowl. As a Boricua, I am here to tell you - PUERTO RICO IS NOT A PART OF THE UNITED STATES. This is a legal fact, not my personal opinion or cultural viewpoint.
As officially designated by the 1901 Insular Cases of the United States Supreme Court, Puerto Rico is an "unincorporated territory" "belonging to the United States, but not a part of the United States" (read: a colony - Puerto Rico is sadly but accurately dubbed The World's Oldest Colony)
People born in Puerto Rico do have US citizenship (which the US government only granted so that it could draft Puerto Ricans into the military) but are explicitly not afforded the full rights of the US Constitution. The US cherry picks what "rights" Puerto Ricans do and do not have while exploiting it as a tax haven and tourist playground. The most glaring and straightforward example - you cannot vote for the President of the US if you live in PR.
US Statehood is not a solution to any of this. That is another deeply misinformed liberal talking point. After over a century of abusing Puerto Ricans' human rights (forcibly sterilizing 1/3 of the women, using our land for bombing practice and causing insanely high cancer rates, massacring peaceful protestors, I could go on and on and on), full independence and sovereignty is the only acceptable resolution .
Yea, of course Bad Bunny can perform at the Superbowl. But because he is literally the planet's most listened to artist this year, NOT because Puerto Rico "is part of the United States." That is not true. Educated yourself. Que viva Puerto Rico libre.
I recommend War Against All Puerto Ricans by Nelson A. Denis for further reading.

Just fyi, from what I've heard Chinese people say, the funny part about that song is that this adjectives/descriptions in China are/were (can't remember) commonly associated with women! So it's like an Easter egg for Chinese people!!
"This youtuber is a pedophile!" Child predator.
"This political figure is a pedophile!" Child predator.
"These TV shows sexualizing children are encouraging pedophilia!" They're encouraging sexualization of minors. They're encouraging predators to take advantage of children.
You cannot know if someone is a pedophile through their harmful actions. Pedophilia = ongoing attraction towards prepubescent (SPECIFICALLY PREBUSCENT, stop conflating it with hebephilia and ephebophilia!) children.
All of these politicians, CEOs, directors, celebrities/subcelebrities, they are not automatically pedophiles just by preying upon children. How do you know they are pedophiles? Have they told you "I have ongoing attraction to minors"? Or are you just seeing them prey on the vulnerable?
Most child predators are not pedophiles, as they do not have this ongoing attraction. They are acting on opportunity. Just as most men who rape men are heterosexual. Please see my post [link] about this.
More importantly, why does it matter if they are a pedophile or not? There is no "evil disorder", most pedophiles are innocent people. There is only evil behavior. So even if they are a pedophile, it is not their disorder that is causing them to prey upon children, it is a desire for power.
Pedophilia is a mental condition and it does not make someone more likely to abuse others, nor does it make someone more likely to turn their head away if they know a child is in danger.
You can advocate for the rights of children without demonizing the mentally disabled. In fact, many victims of CSA develop pedophilia themselves as a result of their trauma. Pedophilic attraction can begin very early on in a person (ie; a nine year old discovering they are attracted to babies is an example of a child who is a pedophile.)
I am tired of every youthlib blog demonizing para disorders. I am a huge youthlib advocate too, but it makes me genuinely so uncomfortable being in spaces that dont care how saneist they're being.
genuinely they have probably saved people.
they HAVE saved people actually i’m 100% sure of that. i’ve learned about so many recalls i would’ve had no idea about otherwise !!!! from the bottom of all of our hearts thank you mamoru
aw shucks, thank YOU! what a pick me up!
when I was younger, I got food poisoning. I was supposed to recover from it, but I wound up with a bunch of nasty medical conditions instead. I never imagined I would become disabled from food.
so I am really glad I have been able to help spread the word every now and then about food safety and recalls, since it hopefully means a few less people going through what I have.
while I have your attention, I do not post every recall, even just for the US, so here are a few of the links I use!
recalls.gov/recent.html <- aggregate of official government recall links for the US! food, drugs, products, child safety seats, motor vehicles, and tires! (half the feeds are broken half the time, but hey, it works™! check the FDA enforcement reports for a more complete list of recalls, especially drug recalls!)recalls for canada <- recalls for canada! RASFF <- food recalls and safety alerts for the EU! food safety news <- news about food safety in the US, canada, and around the world! I was poisoned <- see where people have gotten food poisoning near you, and report your own! (worldwide!) thanks for reading, stay safe and take care!

4shtronomyRebloggedthis-is-kinmisiaFollowAnonymous asked:I swear people call anyone they dislike white these daysthis-is-kinmisia answered:Post ReferencedNo seriously, it's fucking annoying. I feel like it's double annoying for me because the concept of race and how it's expressed is massively different within Louisiana than it is in other areas of the US because the French classified race differently than the English did. So the way most people classify race... doesn't... really work in Louisiana. Our culture is incredibly mixed. Cajuns aren't considered white, they are considered indigenous. And they were driven out of countless places because they were seen as dirty and subhuman. Louisiana culture has many Indigenous, Latin American, and even Filipino influences because when we settled in what is now modern day Louisiana, these people welcomed us with open arms. Which means it's so incredibly sad when you realize that many Louisianians are pro-Trump and pro-Wall and all that. Like bitch, these people are our family, don't you DARE turn your back on them now just because we're NOW seen as white by outsiders. But even then, I'm not just Cajun, I'm Louisiana Creole. Many Creole families here look anywhere from the palest white to the darkest black person you've ever seen. When the British bought Louisiana, many Louisiana Creole families were literally torn apart due to how the British classified race and if you were even a drop of "colored" you were a slave. Many Cajuns and Louisiana Creoles that were "white" were still slaves. It was horrendous. And even most "white" Louisiana Creoles don't consider themselves white. They consider themselves "passe blanc" or white-passing. Kouri-Vini and Cajun French are dying languages because many of our great-grandparents and grandparents just didn't teach us. Why? Because they were shamed, beat, and sometimes even killed for speaking anything that wasn't English. It was a horrific time honestly. And it saddens me to see so many Cajuns and Louisiana Creoles now turning their backs on the communities that once welcomed us. Black people, Latine people, Indigenous people. As if these people aren't our literal family, by blood and by spirit. It breaks my heart. @thisisracism @this-is-indigemisia 635

4shtronomyRebloggedknightfaetalityFollowOrientalism by Arthur E. ChristyRelated to my previous essay: Critique on ‘Orientalism’ by Edward Said.It really pmo when people quote ‘Orientalism’ by Said and then say that it’s a SWANA thing only. When they try to argue that “EAsians commit SWANA Orientalism so they can’t claim it as their struggle”. Because I can tell you just started reading about orientalism as per the social media trend, without actually bothering to research past your first recommendation.FYI the whole world orientalises EAsians, INCLUDING SWANA. In general, whites and non-EAsian POC commit anti-Asian racism and fetishism against us, as much as we commit it against other POC. They fearmonger and especially villainise China, Sinodiasporic and Chinese people (Sinophobia) HEAVILY, and it results in MILLIONS of our peoples being killed, not even talking about the oppression and marginalisations we face. And this all feeds back into upholding dominant groups’ power regionally and globally. Does that eliminate SWANA from claiming orientalism as their struggle too? No, of course not. So stop with the Model Minority Myth shit yall love to throw on EAsians’ asses to exempt us from experiencing racism. Stop trying to make us prove our struggle is SEVERE ENOUGH to be centered and talked about, even where it comes to OUR STRUGGLE. This is what white supremacy have spread about EAsians, and you’re swallowing and regurgitating their bullshit while denying the confirmation bias is there. This is exactly what critics of ‘Orientalism’ have posed, that scholars and the field have come to assume that ‘Orientalism’ doesn’t affect EAsians “as much”. And Said himself commits this error when he wrote his book. He did mention China a few times, although he was understandably focusing on the struggle he was most intimated with in SWANA Orientalism rather than Sino-Orientalism. Additionally he was focused on a single-model oppression style as was the style of his inspiration from Foucault, and this caused him to miss out on a lot of nuance that readers fail to seek supplementation to.You can read my full critique and quoting others here.WHO COINED ORIENTALISM?No it wasn’t Said, whose book was published in the 70s. Many people credit and assume that Said “transformed” the word “Orientalist” into “Orientalism”. But Orientalism was already in effect well before Said and it was used in a similar way. So it would be wholly inaccurate to say that Said coined Orientalism. He did have a part to play in building its consciousness. The first person to coin Orientalism was Arthur E. Christy (1899—1946), who published multiple books on the Orient and Orientalism from the early-20th century to the mid-20th century. Keep readingthis-is-sinophobia-orientalismLearn the basis of Orientalism. It is heavily Sinophobic to try to take this term from EAsians because apparently “it only applies to SWANA” and “EAsians commit Orientalism” as if that’s some caveat that bans us from claiming this struggle that was originally about us too.711

Also can I please have sources for “most pedophiles are most likely to harm others than themself” and “most men who rape men identity as heterosexual” thisisparamisia answered:Rape is based off a desire for power. "Why do rapists not do domestic violence" Many of them do. I don't understand where you got this notion from. A lot of domestic abusers are rapists. If someone desires power, they may choose to have a relationship so they can have a consistent victim. They may also be attracted to the person genuinely, but power is still their priority and the motivating factor.A pilot study: Exploring suicidal ideation among non-offending adults with sexual attraction to minors, through their online forum posts [link]Non-Offending Pedophiles Suffer From Isolation [link]“Not Offending Is Easy. The Double Life, the Secrets, the Loneliness Are the Hardest Parts I Needed Help with”: Understanding the Treatment Needs of People with Attractions to Children [link]EPA-0284 – Pedophiles and (or) child molestersOnly a small part (16,2 %) of sexual offenders against children meet the criteria (DSM-IV-TR) for pedophilia.Keep in mind, most pedophiles in the general public never get diagnosed due to stigma, ostracization, and fear of medical torture, so it ends up diagnosed more in criminals. Also keep in mind the way that telling someone theyre evil is going to likely make them act out, the same way that telling an addict they are doomed to their addiction will make them give into it, or telling a suicidal person they're doomed to a life of misery will make them more likely to kill themself. These factors also contribute to statistics. Destigmatizing pedophilia means lowering the actual offense rate.Debunking Popular Misconceptions About CSA | AASAS [link] While some people who commit child sexual abuse do seek sexual gratification for the act, other factors such as power and control are also primary motivators. Many people who commit child sexual abuse seek power and control over the children they abuse, especially those who act from a place of opportunity.Debunking Popular Misconceptions About SV | AASAS [link] Sexual assault is about power and control. It violates not only an individual’s personal integrity, but also their sense of safety and control over their life. Research indicates that while there are many “types” of people who offend sexual violence, with varying etiologies for offending, the underlying motivation of sexual assault is to degrade, humiliate and dominate the victim.Debunking Popular Misconceptions About Men and SV | AASAS [link]The vast majority of men who sexually abuse or assault other men identify themselves as heterosexual, reinforcing the assertion that sexual violence is about power and control.Facts about men & rape [link]Male rapists who rape men are heterosexual in 98% of cases.Male Victims of Sexual Assault: Phenomenology, Psychology, Physiology [link]Several studies have analyzed the motivations of assailants in sexual assault. Michael B. King notes that “sexual assault of men has long been recognized as a means used by conquering soldiers to humiliate opponents, as a feature of sexual torture or aggression, or as a sexual outlet in institutions where heterosexual activity is impossible”. He also noted that assailants are predominantly heterosexual and that sexual assault of males perceived to be homosexual is a form of gay bashing. In studies of accounts of both offenders and victims of sexual assault cases, Groth and Burgess argued that assertion of power rather than sexual gratification is the motive in most rapes, including cases of males sexually assaulting other males.40133

Sure, it’s technically possible, but it’s disingenuous to assume that the default will always be cishet unless explicitly stated and that it’ll fit what’s considered queer nowadays, not to mention how different cultures handle gender.Anyway, the book brought up that historically there were two kings who, despite being AFAB, ruled and lived as men and were accepted as such. From what I understand, this isn’t common knowledge for trans history because both kingdoms were African, and while the people accepted the rulers as men, most of our records are from colonial powers who assumed they were both women who faked being men to gain more power.Highly recommend reading this book, because I’m barely halfway through and I’ve already learned about these two kings, well respected “men near indistinguishable from women” who had political power in England, and a nonbinary celebrity whose fame and adoration was partially based off intentionally breaking gender norms very visibly.441,6414,139
4shtronomyRebloggedthis-is-adultismFollowBy the way, abortion is a children's rights issue as well.Obviously, children have sex and also can be victims of sexual assault and therefore they can become pregnant, which means they deserve the right to terminate for whatever reason, including the fact that being so young and giving birth can permanently disabled or kill you, especially if you're younger than a teenager. And make no mistake, that absolutely happens. Due to precocious puberty (a case of puberty occurring at an unusually early age), the youngest person to ever give birth was Lina Marcela Medina de Jurado in 1939, who was only four years old when she got pregnant. But I'm not just referring to that fact when I'm saying that abortion is a children's rights issue. I'm talking about what happens when children are born to parents who didn't want to be or weren't prepared to be parents.Children are life-changing for parents. An entire new human being is completely vulnerable and irresponsible, and it's your job to feed them, clothe them, bathe them, send them to school, teach them, raise them, make sure they don't get themselves killed--- because our society (I'm mostly speaking about America because that's where I live, but this could be applicable for other countries) is designed for productivity, the nuclear family unit and individualism, becoming a parent means centering your life around a child with little to no help, financial struggle, little to no time for yourself, losing friends, etc. It's not that hard to believe that a parent would then grow to resent their child, and then they're more likely to abuse them. Even if they don't resent the child, having a kid without the proper resources, support, and preparations ready can lead to unintentional neglect and/or abuse anyway."You can always just send them to be adopted or fostered!"True, you could just give your child away to a system that says they'll find someone more fit to be a parent, sure. However, that in itself can be traumatic, even for babies. During the final trimester, it's believed that babies begin to have smell and therefore can recognize their mothers by scent and once born they find comfort and safety in that, considering it was the first and only smell they knew for weeks (and before someone says "if that's so important and you can acknowledge that a baby can process things in the womb, why are you pro-choice??" the answer is that in the final trimester, an abortion happening that late is most definitely going to be due to a medical emergency where the baby and/or the mom are guaranteed to die or have serious most likely permanent medical consequences. I think it's better for an adult who's already been alive for years to keep living happily than it is for that person to die as well as their baby growing up without a parent, if that baby survives at all). For that to be taken away from them results in a sense of insecurity and can traumatize them. This goes past the biological desire for a connection with your birthgiver as well. Because guess what? The foster system is not that great. The Survey of Youth Transitioning from Foster Care questioned 335 youths in child welfare who are more likely to be victims of human trafficking and found that around 40% of them had been trafficked before the age of 18. Sure, it is a small sample size, and sure, they were looking for children who were more likely to be trafficked for the data, but guess what? 34% of members reported that their experience being trafficked began after they were forced to leave their home. Out of the 40% who were trafficked, a majority of them experienced it for the first time after being forced to leave their home. There is therefore a direct correlation shown in this study between being made to leave your home and being trafficked for sex as a CHILD.It's well known that traffickers often go to the most vulnerable of children for what they do, with it being estimated that 60% of children who are victims of trafficking are from the foster care system. This also shouldn't be surprising when you know that children in foster care or other child welfare systems go missing all the time. In the state of Georgia alone, nearly 1,800 children in the system went missing from the years 2018-2022. Georgia isn't even that big of a state nor does it have major cities like New York or California! Imagine how much worse it much be there. These also don't go reported well, with around 51,000 of 74,535 children missing for over two days from the periods of July 1, 2018 to December 31, 2020 not being reported properly, and over half of them (around 34,000) not being reported at all. I've also found some resources stating that 60% of rescued trafficking victims come from the foster care system and that 40% of children who go missing in state care go missing multiple times with an average of four times, but I couldn't find the exact place that information came from (and don't have the time to keep on digging. This stuff is important to me but I also have a lot of other responsibilities and highly encourage everyone to take their time learning new things as well and sharing it with others!)In other words, "just send the kid to be adopted/fostered" is NOT a good alternative to aborting a child!! I'm not a victim of child sexual abuse so maybe I'm not in my right to say this, but personally I think it's better to have never been alive and never gotten a chance to feel anything including suffering than it is to be born into an unloving home, receive trauma and the first seeds of abandonment issues by being separated to my mother, and then facing a large chance of being raped for money that I may not even see for years of my life. Not saying that someone experiencing that doesn't deserve to live--- not at all--- but I'd say it's very reasonable to not bring a child into that knowing that it's such a high possibility. Abortion is a children's rights issue. Yes, we need to fix these systems (by creating more community-based care and prioritizing interdependence for everyone including children, as well as legalizing children's rights and allowing them to have more agency as well as resources to escape abuse and find support and places to recover afterwards without legal repercussions and for abusers to have actual consequences for their actions) but that's not coming any time soon unfortunately, so a person who's pregnant has all the right to abort their child instead of bringing them into a system that does not care for them. Also, do not let it be lost on you that the same politicians that are pro-life and claim that abortion is murder are the same ones who are in files where they traffic children, many of them certainly being foster care children, and did absolutely vile shit like auctioning them based off of sticking a finger in their vaginas and determining how tight they are, raping them and forcing them to touch grown men's genitals, forcefully impregnating them and eating their offspring... uhm. Of course they want unwanted children to be born and sent to the state. They got to use them as sex dolls and evening meals. They are sexual AND carnivorous child predators, do NOT let them dictate what is safe and good and healthy for children for fuck's sake. 943

If not, you're antisemitic - and if you argue that there's no such thing as a Jewish ethnicity, you also are.Do you hate all Israeli people simply by virtue of being Israeli? If so, that's xenophobia - nobody can control where they are born, and many, many Israelis, particularly those of younger generations, are actively fighting against the Israeli government. Hating the Israelis who support their government, support the apartheid, and support genocide for those aspects is completely understandable - hating anyone simply for where they are born is not.531

I put the singer Lewis Capaldi up, and the person in the chair, asked if he was, I'm not sure, I think he said "behind the 8-ball" and none of us knew what he meant so he asked one of the ladies in-charge of the event, who is on the older side, because she would know what that meant, and the clarification was "retarded." When he found out that it was Lewis Capaldi, he said that Lewis was more than a little behind the 8-ball, and more than a little retarded, and that his 2 brain cells would hardly connect. I was so angry I wanted to slug him in the face, but I didn't want to get into trouble for being violent, so I had to go take a walk.I was still angry even when I came back, so I couldn't even look at him because I felt like I might hit him if I did. It made me very upset. I left the gathering early and cried a lot on the walk home. I was also very upset with basically everyone else there because no one seemed to have as big an issue with it as I did. I'm "gifted" but I grew up with IDD people in my social circles so I very deeply care about IDD issues. 4shtronomyRebloggedthis-is-multigenderphobiaFollowI dont know who needs to hear this but if you want to be a gender, you can just be it. Like, if you want to be a girl, that's enough for you to say you're a girl. Often there's the idea of "what if Im faking? I don't 'feel' non binary even though Id like to be, but if I don't feel like a non binary person then Im not one" and it's like. Yeah for some people they feel a certain gender. But you can also be a certain gender because you want to be it.You don't need to despise your current gender for you to want to be a different gender. You can just be a guy if you want to be a guy. You can just be agender. You can just be a girlthing, or a maverique person, or an aboy, or anything you wish. You wanting to be a gender is enough for you to call yourself that gender. There's no 'test' you need to pass. If you wish you were a girl, you can be a girl. You dont have to deny your previous gender either, you can be multigender. You can also change your mind. You can be a man who is a woman on wesnedays. You can be an enban who sometimes calls themselves a woman. You can experiment, anything you say about your gender is valid because it's your gender.krenzeThat's exactly the thought I've been battling with recently. Most stories I read about trans characters or posts I see from trans people mention this feeling of wrong-ness, of noticing that they are different to other people with the same assigned gender.I know logically that it is my own identity and I can call it whatever I want, but at the same time the damn brain goes "Yeah you may like being/presenting female more than male, but do you *hate* being male? No? Thought so, guess you can't be a woman then"this-is-multigenderphobiaHonestly, it is a common way to explain it, and that's why it's seen more often, but it's not at all a requirement, and there are plenty of people who dont feel like that!My first thought went to @imstillalexcomic's Hey Lady (link), because she describes exactly the "being fine as a guy, but wanting to be a girl"And listen, I personally denied my own transness for that reason exactly!! I thought, since I was fine with being my assigned gender, and I didnt have the whole "I want to be the 'opposite' gender and nothing else" that there was no way I could be trans. Like, this as a person surrounded by trans friends. Having ocd meant also a lot of second guessing, a lot of "what if Im wrong and Im a bad person for it", so I do want to say, I get it a lot. You dont have to hate being male to call yourself a woman. You can even call yourself a woman and not be one! That's a thing people can do! You're not doing anything wrong by it. If you want, you can just try it on sometime, no pressure and no need to redefine your whole identity around it. And if later you find it fits more and it's what best describes you, all the better! If you find something else that describes you best, awesome too!!If you need to talk, my inbox is always open, and I hope this helped a bit, because it is literally your gender and if you wanna call yourself a woman, then you're a woman!4shtronomyExactly!! For me personally it was that I never actually really associated myself with a gender at all. I only realised I was gender non-conforming bcs at 12 a guy confessed to me and I had a whole sexuality crisis over not liking him back (I'm aroace) and I got into the queer community and discovered it. The only actual gender dysphoria I have is my breasts. Nothing else. But the lack of representation of this "other" experiences in media and online can be harmful. Bcs it ends up fueling indirectly the transmed ideology. #gender nonconforming#queer#trans#trans rights#transgender#nonbinary#queer gender#transfem#transmasc#anti transmed#trans issues#gender essentialism#anti bioessentialism#Trans phobia505873

4shtronomyReblogged thisisparamisiathis-is-deformimisiaFollowConsidering this blog discusses self harm a lot, I want to say - if you're struggling with cutting or burning yourself, a way to ween off of that is through the usage of needles or pins instead. If you can't make a total switch immediately, I recommend substituting 1/3rd of your usual method with the needles, and then slowly rising to substituting half of it, then working your way to all of it.There's less blood, easier cleanup, and it lowers the amount of scarring present (note: I bring this up not because of the appearance of scarring, but because scarring can become sensitive/painful or grow rigid, so having less of it improves future functionality.)Eventually you might be able to ween off of that, too, and use classic methods like snapping a rubber band on the location.I've heard to ween off of burning, a lot of people will hold icepacks to themself or smack themself with the icepacks, because it feels similar to heat. So you could always try that too.Regardless of your SH method, always make sure to clean/disinfectant, use appropriate ointments, and bandage when you're done.I believe in you. Things will get better.22565
4shtronomyRebloggedthisisparamisiaFollowBlog-relevant terminology[PT: Blog-relevant terminology]This is a compilation of terminology that is important for this blog. ---The Basics[PT: The Basics]Attraction: A feeling of desire for someone or something. You can learn more about specific types of attraction (romantic, sexual, sensual, alterous, queerplatonic, etc) here [link.]Sexual Arousal: The body’s physical response to touch in a sexually sensitive area, or the body’s physical response to sexual attraction or libido. This includes genital arousal (wetness, erections, heat, etc), and/or physical responsiveness elsewhere in the body (ie; blushing.) A person can experience sexual arousal while not experiencing sexual attraction or a libido spike (ie; a person who is accidentally touched on their crotch may grow aroused, even if they do not find the person who touched them to be attractive.) Arousal is not the same as desire, as a person can be aroused and distressed or uncomfortable by their arousal.Kink: An act, object, or roleplay that enhances a person's (usually sexual, romantic, or sensual) enjoyment, but is ultimately optional to them, and isn't required to enjoy intimacy. For example, a person who enjoys bondage, but does not require it to enjoy themself during intimacy.Fetish: An act, object, or roleplay that is required for a person's (usually sexual, romantic, or sensual) enjoyment. For example, a person who needs bondage in order to enjoy themself during intimacy. "Fetish" has also been morphed and watered down in many spaces to refer to kinks that involve specific body parts (ie; feet) and/or specific bodily functions (urination, defecation, etc), disregarding the original definition. Paraphilia: Attraction or arousal that is considered atypical. Most kinks and fetishes fall under the paraphilia umbrella.Paraphilic Disorder (Para Disorder): A paraphilia that causes a person distress (unrelated to guilt from purity culture). Most para disorders would inflict serious harm upon oneself or others if fully explored. Oftentimes, this paraphilia becomes obsessive-compulsive, and extremely difficult to ignore. Some psychologists state that it is only a disorder if it causes a person distress, however this has come to debate. The reason why there is debate is for the following reasons:1- It would disregard people whose comorbid disorders cause them to experience moral disconnect and/or psychological apathy (and thus, they are incapable of experiencing distress towards their paraphilic disorder, but are still overcome with unwanted fantasies.)2- It would contradict the reality of other psychological disorders. For example, a person with an addictive disorder may not feel distressed over their condition, but the addiction still overtakes their life. A person with nonsuicidal self injury disorder may not feel distressed over their condition, but they are still self-injuring. This lack of bother does not mean the condition is unimpactful to their health or life.3- While occasional intrusive thoughts happen to most people to a small degree, psychologists widely recognize that experiencing persistent [PT: persistent] thoughts of harming oneself or others is a sign of a disorder (ie; a person who experiences persistent thoughts of self harm, a person who experiences persistent thoughts of hurting animals, etc.) As such, it puts to question whether paraphilias that center around violating consent and/or harming oneself or others would be innately disordered by this standard (though, this brings in secondary questions, such as "what about aspec people, specifically those that only experience the attraction under certain circumstances? Would their paraphilic attraction be considered disordered by this standard, if it isn't persistent? Would it be categorized as an episodic disorder?")Because of the complicated nature of this, my personal consensus is that if the paraphilic attraction causes distress and/or impairs ability to function [PT: impairs ability to function], it is a paraphilic disorder. Point 3 is on iffy grounds with me, as I recognize that not everyone feels as though point 3 is enough to qualify, and I respect that perspective. Regardless, on this blog, I refer to any paraphilia that would cause serious harm upon oneself or others if fully explored as a "para disorder", but I understand some people feel as though they don't fit into the disorder category. (Example; I refer to zoophilia as a "para disorder", but I recognize not all zoophiles fall into the first 2 points, and feel iffy/disagree about the 3rd point, thus do not call themself disordered because they are unimpaired and undistressed by their attraction.)Any paraphilic attraction can become a para disorder if it distresses or impairs functionality. For example, if a person's foot fetish becomes obsessive and impairs their day-to-day life, that is a paraphilic disorder.Paraphilic OCD: A form of obsessive compulsive disorder that centers around obsessing over the idea that they may have a para disorder. Usually they don't have a para disorder, and their obsessions are stemming purely from a moral anxiety. POCD (Pedophilic OCD), ZOCD (Zoophilic OCD), and NecrOCD (Necrophilic OCD) are common subtypes.Predator/Offender: A person who non-consensually harms another person. Most predators do not have paraphilic disorders, and most people who have para disorders are not predators. The reason why diagnosis for paraphilic disorders is so skewed towards criminals is because the general population rarely seeks out a diagnosis, and psychologists tend to only test these conditions on criminals. Think of it like this - if autism was mainly only tested in criminals, then autism would be known as a "crime condition", and assumed to be more common in criminals than in the general public.---Commonly stigmatized paraphilias:[PT: Commonly stigmatized paraphilias.]Other paraphilias are stigmatized as well, these are just the most common ones I've noticed, which come up a lot.Keep reading1349

4shtronomyRebloggedthis-is-amato-heteronormativityFollowAnonymous asked:A citizenship test asking question on any possible crimes you have been part of or committed(wether or not they are actually immoral) and one of the question is "Been married to more than one person at the same time?" like that isn't even allowed in most places anyway but how is that wrong???
I hate polyamphobia so much. this-is-amato-heteronormativity answered:This is polyamphobia.A lot of people "get away" with marrying someone while still married to someone else through legal tricks, and thats what they're criminalizing. But like, that shouldn't be criminal anyways. There shouldn't be legal restrictions in place preventing polyamory.People always talk about marriage rights and how queer people finally have marriage rights, but they constantly neglect polyamorous people and people living in countries that still have queerness in general illegal. Marriage rights still have a long way to go.Below is a map of all the places that have polygamy legalized. Black = illegal.Orange = illegal, but not criminalized in practice (as in, they often "let it slide.") This means polyamorous people have no legal protections whatsoever and that the law will not be of any help to them, and could punish them if they seek any legal assistance related to their marriage.Blue = legal. (And think of this - if a polycule from a blue location were to migrate to a non-blue location, what would they do?)Green = legal, but only for Muslims.White = legal status unknown. For those who cannot view the image, I'll summarize. Most of the map is black or orange. The only blue locations are a majority of Africa, some of Asia, and the solomon islands. The only green locations are a small segment of Asia.North America, South America, Europe, Australia, the rest of the Oceania, a few portions of Africa, and the rest of Asia is black or orange. Only a few small spots and Antarctica are white. If anyone wants to see more detail on this you can check the wikipedia page here [link.]21537

4shtronomyRebloggedthis-is-varsexism-transphobiaFollowSex & Gender Terms[PT: Sex & Gender Terms.]Sex Terms[PT: Sex Terms]Varsex/Sexqueer: A person with a sex identity or sex traits that are not typical of perisex cissex standards. This includes intersex, dysex, ersex, and transsex.Perisex (sometimes also called Endosex or Dyadic): A person/creature with the most commonly viewed natal sex traits within their species. For humans, this includes SPETE and SPETA.SPETE (Someone Perisex Expected To Estrogenize): A perisex person with XX chromosomes, a vulva, two average-sized (or large) ovaries, a single average-sized (or large) uterus, two fallopian tubes, and (without the influence of HRT, physical damage, or tumors) is expected to estrogenize (at a typical range) during puberty.Their vulva will have two labia minora with a clitoral hood, two labia majora, a single pea-sized clitoris, a single moderate (or deep) vaginal entry, and a urethra between the vaginal entry and the clitoris. It may or may not have a hymen that surrounds the vagina, covering it minimally.SPETA (Someone Perisex Expected To Androgenize): A perisex person with XY chromosomes, a moderate (or large) penis, two moderately-sized (or large) testicles within the scrotum, an average-sized prostate, two vas deferens, two average-sized seminal vesicles, and (without the influence of HRT, physical damage, or tumors) is expected to androgenize (at a typical range) during puberty.Their penis will have a phallus, a scrotum beneath the phallus, foreskin protecting the head of the phallus, and a urethra on the tip of the penis. It is straight or slightly curved when erect.Cosexual: A species whose perisex standard is being capable of both fertilization and egg production at the same time. (Ie; Snails, slugs, certain fish, etc.)Dualsex: A species whose perisex standard is having mixed sex traits, typically both a penis and a vagina, though other combinations may apply as well. This usually refers to fictional species.Intersex: A person/creature with natal sex traits (as in, sex traits that are not from physical damage, surgery, or HRT) that do not fall within their perisex norm. Usually this refers to natal primary sex traits (sex chromosomes, sex hormones, genitalia, and/or reproductive organs), but some people consider natal secondary sex traits (breasts, nipples, etc) to be intersex as well.(Note: "Inter" does not just mean in-between. Inter can also mean "among" or "to destroy". Therefore, intersex =/= a sex in-between SPETE/SPETA. In humans, intersex can describe a mix of sex traits, but it can also describe small/absent/undeveloped genitals/reproductive organs, genitals/reproductive organs that are split/duplicated, a penis with an atypical appearance, a vulva with an atypical appearance, high sex hormones, low sex hormones, unresponsiveness to sex hormones, "mismatched" sex chromosomes, SRY-negative XY chromosomes, SRY-positive XX chromosomes, more than two sex chromosomes, and/or less than two sex chromosomes.)SETE (Someone Expected To Estrogenize): A person (perisex or intersex) who (without the influence of HRT, physical damage, or tumors) is expected to estrogenize during puberty. This could be expectation of micro-estrogenization, average estrogenization, or hyperestrogenization. Sometimes, this expectation may be inaccurate, if the person has unpredicted hyperandrogenism or hypoestrogenism. SETA (Someone Expected To Androgenize): A person (perisex or intersex) who (without the influence of HRT, physical damage, or tumors) is expected to androgenize during puberty. This could be micro-androgization, average androgenization, or hyperandrogenization. Sometimes, this expectation may be inaccurate, if the person has unpredicted hyperestrogenism or hypoandrogenism. SETAE (Someone Expected To Androestrogenize): A person who (without the influence of HRT, physical damage, or tumors) is expected to have a mix of androgenization and estrogenization during puberty. Sometimes, this expectation may be inaccurate, if the person has unpredicated hypogonadism.SWPE (Someone Without Puberty Expectations): A person who (without the influence of HRT, physical damage, or tumors), is not expected to experience any puberty. This is usually due to having bilateral gonadal agenesis, or gonads that are fully streaked and/or too small to produce sex hormones, or similar variations.Dysex: A person with atypical primary sex traits caused by non-natal events (ie; labial hypertrophy from pregnancy, gynecomastia from red meat consumption, a person with hyperestrogenism from tumors, etc), minor atypicalities in primary sex traits (ie; a minorly bicornuate uterus), or atypical secondary sex traits (ie; extra nipples, no breasts, etc) who does not feel as though the label of "intersex" fits them. This is considered the grey area between intersex and perisex.Ersex: A person who is unsure of whether they are intersex or perisex, due to physical events that could have changed their sex traits. (Ie; A person who had an accident that could have potentially injured their ovaries, and they have no way to tell if their low levels of estrogen are a result of their accident, or if they have an intersex variation that causes hypoestrogenism.)(Note: Perisex, intersex, dysex, and ersex are not labels a person can "transition" into, as they describe natal sex, not internal sex identities. So a perisex person cannot "transition to intersex", an intersex person can't have their intersexuality "removed" from them through procedures, etc.)Cissex: A person who identifies with their natal sex traits.Transsex: A person who desires sex traits that differs from the ones they natally developed. A person can be transsex while not being transgender.Transgenital: A transsex identity for people who desire genitals that differ from the ones they natally developed.Transreproductive (Transrepro): A transsex identity for people who desire reproductive organs that differ from the ones they natally developed. Transgonadal refers specifically to someone who desires different gonads than what they natally developed.Transhormonal: A transsex identity for people who desire a hormone profile that differs from the one they natally developed.Altersex: A transsex identity for people who desire sex traits that are mixed, null, or not natally seen within humans. (This identity is sometimes also used by sysmates within systems whose innerworld bodies have those sex traits.) Duomorphic, multisex, nullsex, and xenosex fall under this.Duomorphic: A person who desires a mixture of sex traits that they did not natally have (ie; a person born with a vulva who desires a penis & vagina together.) You may also hear people using terms like "salmacian" or "aphrodisian" in reference to this identity, however the intersex community finds these terms problematic due to their connection with the origin of the intersexist h-slur. (Read more on that here [link.])Multisex: A person who identifies as multiple sexes at the same time.Sexnull: A person who feels that their sex is best described as lacking or absent, or who desires for their sex traits to be null.Xenosex: A person who feels that their sex is best described through concepts, objects, or nonhumans.---Gender Terms[PT: Gender Terms]Genderqueer: A person whose gender or gender presentation is queer in some sense.Transgender: A person who identifies differently from the gender socially imposed upon them and/or whose sense of gender differs from the cultural norms around them.Cisgender: A person who identifies with the gender socially imposed upon them and/or whose sense of gender is aligned with the cultural norms around them.Ultergender: An intersex person who identifies against the gender assigned to them at birth, while not necessarily feeling as though "transgender" applies to them (possibly due to being reassigned a gender later in life, or due to experiencing coercive intersex medical interventions, such as genital mutilation, reproductive mutilation, hormone abuse, etc.)Ipsogender: An intersex person who identifies with the gender assigned to them at birth, while not necessarily feeling as though "cisgender" applies to them (possibly due to being reassigned a gender later in life, or due to experiencing coercive medical interventions.)Intergender: A person who feels like their intersexuality impacts the way they view their gender.Non-binary: A person who isn't a monogender binary man or monogender binary woman. This can be an umbrella term for all genders (or lack thereof) that stray from a monogendered binary, or it could be used as a lone identity. A non-binary person is an enban/enby (used like man/woman) and a group of non-binary people are enben/enbies.Keep reading50125
