Bernard C. Welch, convicted slayer of physician Michael Halberstam, wants to get married -- and he has suggested that the ceremony take place when he is sentenced tomorrow.

But the surprise is that Welch doesn't want to marry Linda Susan Hamilton, the woman with whom he had lived with since 1976. Instead, he wants to marry Susan Swanson, a woman who lived with Welch and Hamilton in their Great Falls, Va. home, a source said. Swanson could not be reached for comment.
