Not only does this disclosure of methods mean that rescuing the next airman will be harder to save, it presumably risks whatever assets within Iran were used to leak the information inside the country.

This will be talked about for a long time. I know this war and trump get a lot of hate but if you separate that for a second.. The US military apparatus and the lengths they will go to and the resources and capabilities they have is unmatched on this planet. I’m saying that as a Canadian who observes in awe
I think it’s possible to separate the two. I don’t think Trump and Kegseth really have a clue what they’re doing, but the career professionals in the military and intelligence field are extremely good at their jobs and it really showed through this operation

When you're deploying into a country like Afghanistan/Syria/Iraq, they give you a piece of parchment paper called a Blood Chit that says "I am an American. I am lost/separated. If you help me return to the nearest American unit or embassy, my Government will reward you. Please do not harm me." It says this in the local languages and handed out before you leave for that country. Obviously Iran isn't going to give a shit about one of these in this case, but I always wondered what they'd reward someone if they returned a lost servicemember with one of these.
Trump is kept haply with fun things like choosing the operation name and he thinks that means he planned the whole thing. Hesgeth gets to talk and he thinks he planned it. You can’t separate the two. The airman was downed because of the war Trump started. This wasn’t a fight for survival or justice.
