To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and PNG, the Chinese Embassy in PNG, in partnership with the University of Papua New Guinea, is holding the “China in My Eyes: Painting & Video Competition”.

The Chinese Hospital Ship donated Medical Supplies to PNGDF On April 9, the Chinese PLAN hospital ship Silk Road Ark donated 256 cases of medical supplies, which worth around 1 million Kina, to the PNGDF.

Rear Admiral Fang Jinsong, Commander of the Chinese PLAN hospital ship, Defense Secretary John Akipe and PNGDF Commander Rear Admiral Philip Polewera attended the donation ceremony.

The donation of medical supplies demonstrates China’s sincere goodwill toward the PNG government and military. The PNG side expressed sincere gratitude for the donation, which will bring tangible benefits to the PNG side.

He reaffirmed that the PNG government has firmly adhered to the one-China policy since independence and will continue to follow the foreign policy of “Friends to all, Enemies to none,” maintaining good relations with the Chinese military.

On the same day, Commander Fang also paid a courtesy call on Hon. Russel Warvik, Acting Governor of NCDC and Chairman of Motu Koitabu Assembly.

Prime Minister Marape commended the multifunctional applications of Juncao grass and its demonstration, highlighting its practicality for the local community.

He expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for its assistance and emphasized that Papua New Guinea’s Ministry of Agriculture will continue to strengthen nationwide promotion efforts to benefit more farmers.
