The ToS of GitGud.io and Sapphire breaks down to basically these rules:

  • Nothing that violates United States Federal laws
  • Nothing that violates the US State laws of these States: Florida, California, Nevada
  • Spam, bot posting, unsolicited advertising
    • SEO manipulation posting (categorized under spam
  • Abuse of GitGud or Sapphire infrastructure
    • GitGud allows unlimited project storage for code and development purposes only
    • GitGud is not to be used for other storage means
      • Including but not limited to:
      • GitGud CI abuse: never ending CI runs, crypto mining
      • Utilizing Infrastructure or repositories as a CDN for non-code and development related purposes
      • Utilizing infrastructure or repositories as a mass storage device for non-code or development related backups, media files, etc
  • Stolen intellectual property such as leaked proprietary source code
  • Attempts of Black Hat intrusion or exploits attempts on all Sapphire/GitGud systems
    • If you wish to report security issues, please do so. We welcome security checks and reports.
  • Repeated harassment of public repository owners

We will often warn users for some of these violations. For obvious malicious abuse, we will ban the account and may even issue a network wide IP ban.

We hold discretion to terminate any user, account, or repository we deem to be an issue. We rarely ban non-spam/non-bot accounts but we will uphold the integrity of the services if needed.
