Preme

Preme (プリム)^? is a movie-exclusive Pretty Cure, debuting in Pretty Cure All Stars F. She is a mysterious Pretty Cure known as Cure Supreme (キュアシュプリーム)^? who is a part of the SKY TEAM. It was later revealed that she is actually the movie's main antagonist Supreme (シュプリーム)^?.

Appearance[]

In her true form, called Supreme Origin, Supreme is a bright white avian alien with four red eyes, a green, diamond-shaped jewel in the middle of her face, and six wings. Two are on her head, act as her arms, and near the torso. The tail is long and swirly and her antennae are long and feathery.^[1]

As Preme, Supreme is a human girl. She has sharp red eyes, light green mascara, pale yellow eyeshadow, powder blue hair with pink tips, and downward white elongated rabbit-like ears and rabbit tail. Her bangs are full, layered, curly, and frame her face with short twin tails held by black ribbons. Her eyebrows are thick and split at the sides. She has a lower lip. Casually, she wears a black hoodie with an icy green top half, magenta pockets and trim forming rabbit ears in the back followed by mauve lining, loose sleeves with white ends, a yellow rabbit face on the right arm with magenta trim, and a cerise heart with white trim that's upside down on the other arm. On the right is a mauve rectangular pocket with an upside down yellow heart. The hood is dark purple with rabbit ears. She also wears a black bolo tie with a green pendant, a black skirt with a lime line, pale lime jagged shorts, blue leggings with pink rabbit-shaped patches on the lower right leg and left thigh, and white sneakers with pink sides and slit tongues, and navy collars and soles. The soles have pale cyan upward lining.

As Cure Supreme, her hair turns pale cyan with brighter tips. The bangs on top have a long curly lock at left and they flare out. Her hairbands are black with green rabbit-shaped clips and gold trim on top to accent her brooch. Her eyes gain light cyan accents. Her downward choker is white and rabbit-shaped. Her dress is white and sleeveless. Her bodice has an upward cyan rabbit-shaped trim in the middle and the abdomen is paler with white rabbit ear segments. The rabbit-ear bow is white with black trim and floats upwards. Jutting out are thin rainbow laces. Her loose arm warmers are short with black trim and pale cyan rabbit-shaped accents at the top and bottom, accenting the hot pink markings on her palms and her back. Her nail polish is black. The waistband is thick and white with a rabbit snout in the middle plus a rabbit-ear bow and heart in the back. Her skirt is made of two layers. The top has pale cyan trim while the bottom layer has darker trim and heart-shaped ends. It's very long and curls to the foot with a gradation insert of fuchsia, white, and cyan. The layers open to reveal another layer with cyan triangular pleats and white ruffly trim opening in the back, plus poofy, fuzzy pale cyan shorts with the ends split. Her stockings have a black ombre at the end. Her shoes have black accented toe frames and flared heels, white rabbit cuffs, and cyan toes with an indent.

After revealing her true agenda, she becomes Supreme Beta. Her outfit turns black with the torso trim magenta. The rainbow lace turns orange. Her sleeves gain magenta accents and icy blue trim. The palm markings turn teal. The skirt layers float with cerise trim and mauve ombre, the top layer trim turning mauve. The layer below gains sharper ruffles. Her stockings turn maroon and the foot frames turn pale cyan with the heels getting longer and sharper and mauve in the back. Her hair turns sharper, darker, gains a magenta ombre, and the tops of her eyebrows gain a magenta ombre and grow longer. The curled lock has a light teal ombre, same for the sharp protrusions on top of the pigtails. Her eyes gain cyan pupils and lighter rabbit face accents inside.

In her final form, her skin becomes tan, her uniform laces become dark magenta, her hair becomes light grey with red and dark turquoise tints, and her eyes become dark red. She eventually becomes a dark maroon-winged humanoid alien resembling her true form with piercing turquoise eyes, red and pale green markings on her forehead, and her brooch encrusted on her chest.

As Cure Supreme B, she retains the attributes of her Cure Supreme form, although all of the gown's white parts are replaced by black, except for minor alternations: the brooch and clips turn cerulean, the bow is pale cyan with black accents, the skirt trims are inverted, the undertone gradient is flipped, the skirt ruffles turn pastel pink, the shorts darken, the stockings turn inverted, the foot accents turn pale cyan and light pink, the sleeve trim is white on top and pink below, and the rainbow lace darkens.

Personality[]

Preme is a being who represents the dark half of the cosmic entity Supreme. She has no knowledge of human emotions and does not understand them. At first, she values strength and power above anything else. She does not tolerate anyone she perceives as weak, useless, or worthless, and abandons Puca for this reason. Despite attempting to replicate the powers of the Pretty Cure, she does not truly understand the purpose behind their abilities. However, after finally understanding Puca and the Cures' love for her, she has a change of heart and opens herself up.

Relationships[]

Puca: Her creation. Although she intended to make Puca serve as her fairy partner, Preme soon views her as weak and wants to kill her. However, Preme and Puca develop a friendship after the latter's feelings reach Preme's heart.

Etymology[]

Preme (プリム, Preme)^?: On its own, it has no actual meaning. It comes from the word "Supreme".

Cure Supreme means "having the highest rank, level, or importance".^[2]

History[]

Supreme was an extraterrestrial alien with immense power who traveled the universe to find a worthy power to face her. She had even succeeded in wiping out Earth, defeating all of the known Pretty Cure. However, she took notice of the Cures' strength and unrelenting spirits. To understand where the Cures obtained their strength, she created a pseudo-Earth filled with weak humans and strong villains led by a being named "Ark." She claimed that these elements were necessary while family or friends weren't. Supreme then assumed the alter ego of Cure Supreme. She also created a fairy partner, Puca. However, she tried to kill the fairy for her cowardliness and incapability to use the powers she gave her, causing Puca to run away in terror.

When fighting against one of the monsters she created, she meets Sora Harewataru, Nagomi Yui, Natsuumi Manatsu, and Kome-Kome, but is confused at how the Cures she killed earlier somehow re-emerge in the world she created. Making use of their lack of memories of their first battle, she introduces herself to TEAM SKY. When Kome-Kome calls her by the name Cure Supreme, she declines that, insisting that she should be called Preme when she is asked who she is. Manatsu immediately extends her hand, although Preme seems fazed by the gesture, and joins Team SKY. TEAM SKY then has a bonfire with Preme. There, the three girls continue bonding with one another, with Sora even telling Manatsu and Yui about the lessons she's been learning in order to become a hero. But for unknown reasons, Preme still distances herself from them, and fails to understand how they become such close friends.

When Team SKY arrives in the town near Ark's castle, they first meet up with Team PRISM. However, their reunion is abruptly interrupted by Puca, who destroys the ground upon spotting Preme. They then join forces with Team BUTTERFLY and begin storming the castle. Upon arriving in the throne room, they discover that Team WING has already defeated Ark, and all the teams are reunited. As the Cures wonder what their next steps should be, Supreme reveals her true intentions by killing Ark and then attacking Cure Macaron. The Cures remember how she had previously defeated them in a battle they couldn't win. Supreme explains that she began her experiments in the world she created in her quest to become a Pretty Cure, but now she views her efforts as nothing but a waste of time. With that, she attempts to destroy the world once again. The gathered Cures make an effort to fight against Supreme, but they are no match for her power and are all defeated by her overwhelming strength.

Despite Supreme's power, the Cures refuse to give up, and with Puca's help, they recreate Earth. Supreme battles all 78 Cures in a desperate attempt to win, but with the support of Puca and other characters, the Cures manage to purify her. As she is purified, Supreme finally realizes the true strength of Pretty Cure lies in their love and that Puca has always loved her.

In the end, Supreme becomes a human and is accepted by the Cures as their friend. She smiles for the first time when Puca forgives her, and they remain together on the newly recreated Earth. She is last seen in the credits, with her own transformation device, finally becoming a real Cure and a happy person.

Cure Supreme[]

Cure Supreme (キュアシュプリーム, Cure Supreme)^? is Preme's alter ego.

Abilities[]

Light Empowerment: Preme becomes more powerful when she comes into contact with light, which enhances her existing powers.
Multiverse Creation: Preme can create a multiverse of an infinite collection of realities and everything that occupies it, including its residents, environment, and locations.
World Creation: Preme possesses the ability to fashion an entirely new world, along with all that inhabits it — be it residents, environments, or locations. She wields the power to craft inhabitants with designated roles, powers, and skills, defining the very essence of their created cosmos.
Alternate Reality Traveling: Preme can travel to other possible worlds that can or could have happened from the endless abyss of alternate outcomes and continuities, being able to taste how dissimilar those probable worlds are on their own. Consequently, one might take an interest in one or a couple of worlds and may create a permanent stay.
Nigh-invulnerability: Preme is immune to almost all kinds of damage, be it physical (internal or external), mental, spiritual, and even conceptual.
Magic Immunity: Preme is invulnerable to most if not all, forms of magic and magical powers (magic absorption, incantation, etc.).

Cure Supreme was designed by Itaoka Nishiki, the animation director of Pretty Cure All Stars F.
Supreme shares her voice actor with Kitakaze Asuka from Go! Princess Pretty Cure.
Cure Supreme is the first Pretty Cure to:
- be the main antagonist.
- be an evil Cure who is not under the influence of any type of brainwashing.
- be a "fake" Cure, before her purification.
- almost kill her fairy partner and nearly destroy Pretty Cure itself.
- have a change in theme color as a Pretty Cure, starting with icy green then black as a recolor in her outfit.
- since Cure Black to have black as her theme color (Cure Supreme B and Supreme Beta only).
- since Cure Sunshine to use the more masculine "boku" pronouns, besides Cure Wing.
Supreme was originally planned to be killed off at the end of the movie, but the staff changed their minds because it would contradict the movie's message.^[3]
Supreme and Puca's rabbit motifs were chosen because 2023, the year of Pretty Cure All Stars F's release, was the year of the rabbit.^[4]
