In April 2025, a bipartisan coalition of 39 state and territory attorneys general, including Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti, urged Congress to take on Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs). Their warning is clear: PBMs were meant to lower costs, but today their vertical integration with owning and operating their own pharmacies drives higher prices, less competition, and fewer choices for patients. 📌 This year, the General Assembly can align with our own Attorney General and end this broken system by prohibiting PBMs and their parent companies from owning or operating pharmacies by passing SB 2040/HB 1959. Ending vertical integration isn’t partisan - it’s about fair competition, patient access, and putting Tennesseans first. 📄 Read the full letter: https://bit.ly/4meNFqC #UnmaskTheMiddleman #PBMReform #PatientsOverProfits
