Doxepin and Prozac
Does anyone have any experience with these two in combination? Was on mirtazapine + prozac for a while and was fine but am moving to Doxepin to deal with the weight gain side effect. I just increased from 30mg to 40mg of Prozac and will be on 25mg of Doxepin. I freak out about serotonin syndrome because I really don't trust my doctor when they tell me i won't have it. It feels like they disregard that possibility no matter what. Thanks.

Been on Prozac for 2 years on40mg, started getting depressed again so we added Wellbutrin. Three months in slightly less depressed but anxiety is going up. So now my doc is prescribing 60mg Prozac and 10mg doxepin at night for sleep and potentially anxiety and depression support. Not sure how to feel about this but I’m hoping for the best.
Best of luck! I am currently tapering off of prozac and all of my other medicine because it was seeming to do more hurt than harm. My therapist recommended that given that the problems I am dealing with are from fear and 'trauma' rather than chemical imbalances. Not sure how it's going to go but yeah i wish you the best!
Yeah that’s what I’m trying to figure out with my therapist and psych. I’ve definitely made a lot of progress while on Prozac for my mental health, but I’m unfortunately still struggling slightly with anxiety and slight depression. To a point where I only am productive when I have to go to my job, when I’m off work I’m rotting in bed. :/ So chemical imbalances? Alternative therapy treatments? Not sure right now 😰

How did this go
I've been taking 20mg of Prozac in the morning and 50mg of doxepin at night for two weeks and I haven't died yet. If you're worried I'd recommend getting your doxepin levels tested regularly and just watch out for symptoms of serotonin syndrome.
Okay that makes me feel better. I’m taking 20mg of Prozac and then 10mg of doxepin.
