That Ibn ʿĀmir's reading of Q6:137 wasn't much liked by exegetes before the canonization of the 7 readings is a well-known fact. But even Ibn Ḫālawayh, a direct student of the canonizer Ibn Mujāhid had this to say: "It is ugly in the Quran, and only allowed in poetry".
