We do not see this translate in animals either. Even though humans are not animals (to me they are), you would think that if strength was the primary impetus of aggression, it would at least apply to other creatures. Dolphins are more aggressive than blue whales. Bonobos are less aggressive than baboons. There are countless examples of this theory failing to explain aggression.
Aggression and strength are a tool, and to determine incident rate you have to determine incentive. Males have more of an incentive to be violent than women do because of their sex role. Males are far more rewarded for being exploitative than females are, and strength is often used as a metric to determine how effectively exploitative he is . That’s pretty much it. It is unflattering for men as well as uncomfortable for women to accept, but it is true nonetheless. Failing to recognize this truth has you getting lost in the “strength” debate. The strength debate itself exists mostly because moids fail to recognize that their way of thinking is not universal (especially when it comes to women). For them, exploitation is a constant incentive, and essentially disappears as part of the equation. If exploitation is a constant, then the only modifier is one’s ability to exploit.
