We gather today to commemorate the 108th birthday of our esteemed church sister, Mary, who has earned the distinction of being Nevada's longest-lived person. Her extraordinary vitality and fortitude are exemplified through her consistent attendance at church services, where she moves about unaided with her walker. Despite experiencing some hearing impairment, her eyesight and memory remain remarkably preserved. Hailing from Sicily, Italy, she plans to return to her native land within the next year or two. In the absence of a suitable birthday card for a centenarian-plus, I crafted a customized chocolate chiffon cake, featuring 108 chocolate chips and a garnish of homegrown Jujubes to celebrate this momentous occasion.
