I’m currently in Hakone and was supposed to head to Kyoto today. I was originally going to head to Mishima station and catch the Tokaido Shinkansen but I don’t believe it’s running at this time. Does anyone have a suggestion how I can get to Kyoto?

Thank you

Has anyone else experienced this on a HP ZBook X2?
Has anyone else experienced this on a HP ZBook X2?

Hello

I noticed that my HP ZBook X2 pressure sensitivity is acting wacky and not registering light pen pressure.

I already sent this machine back to HP but it continues to exhibit the same issue after they "repaired" it.

Specifically when opening the HP Create Control Panel (the equivalent of the Wacom Control Panel) and checking the "diagnostic" window, it will register 0% pen pressure unless I put a moderate amount of pressure on the pen. This translates into a large amount of strokes not being registered, which is very distracting while painting.

If I uninstall the HP Create Control Panel I lose all pressure sensitivity and ability to turn ON or OFF the touch display, but every stroke gets registered, regardless of how light they are.

This seems to be an issue with the Software then rather than the hardware.

Has anyone else had the same experience?

thanks

Imaginears Animation Scam - Scottish Animation studio steals an artist's work and then threatens to sue him for $10,000,000 (ten million dollars) when he claims responsibility for it. - Please share!
Sorry, this post has been removed by the moderators of r/vfx.

Imaginears Animation Studio - SCAM - Two Scottish twins who were mentored by an industry professional for free for 8 months, stole his artwork and tried to crowd-fund a $250,000 short film with it. Artists read and share!

Actually a lot of students found out about me through this scam and approached me asking me for advice. I haven't turned anyone down so far! I don't know that there's anything to learn from this; they lied to me and took advantage of my generosity, This was the first time this ever happened to me and I'd like to think that anyone out there thinking of pulling off a similar scam will think about it twice after looking at what the outcome would be.

You have no idea. When they showed me that character design that was a blatant pixar ripoff I gave them a 3 or 4 pages critique and warned them of the consequences they could have incurred if they did not make changes to it. Did they end up applying those changes their own way? No, they stole my art and asked a third party artist to produce a painted rendition of my designs.

I agreed to mentor them, I agreed to look over their work and critique it in writing and with paintovers and diagrams. I agreed to give them assignments and critique their assignments. I never agreed to my work becoming their property. While they could have certainly taken my advice and implemented it their own way (which is what a student is supposed to do), they actually took my original art and storyboards and used it in order to make a profit out of it, without my knowledge or permission. Big difference.

I consulted with a few lawyers already and they all agreed that there's a very slim chance that this would go to court, because most US lawyers would only work for them at an hourly rate (as opposed as working under the promise of a percentage of their victories) because their case is so weak AND because they are in Scotland and if they were to lose in court here in the US there would beno assets here in the US for the lawyers to claim.

SCAM - Imaginears Animation Studio SCAM - Artists, read and share!!

Adam and Antony Murphy, owners of Imaginears Animation Studio contacted me two years ago asking me to mentor them via e-mail at no cost and later attempted a scam which involved taking some of my original art and storyboards, which I had shared with them as part of my mentor-ship, and attempting to pass it as their own in order to crowd-fund a short film through kick-starter for $250.000. When their associates and testimonials found out about the scam and withdrew their support to the kick-starter, Adam and Antony Murphy setup a blog, with the intention to bypass kick-starter and use PayPal in order to receive $110.000 in funds for a short film idea.

They are now threatening ME with legal action for their failed attempts at crowd-fund the short film.
