Sure would be a shame if someone unmasked their real names (note: not their home address, not their families' info, not anything that could be used to threaten them) so that their friends and coworkers might know what they do in their spare time... t.co/BNrd77C4fR
Because as much as he blusters, Null is a coward, and if it's the difference between going to jail for a long time, or turning informant and turning over all the access logs to the FBI, I bet I know which one he's going to pick.
Give Kiwifarms members the same treatment that Patriot Front and Proud Boy members get: having their anonymous behaviour exposed so that they cannot live two lives, one in which they pretend to be ordinary upstanding citizens, and another in which they terrorise minorities.
Turning off replies, this one is attracting the trolls, and while it's easy enough to block the trolls, please don't argue with them in my mentions, folks. I leave you with this: how and why @Cloudflare should . t.co/hNOEj6yYpM
and lastly, a primer on unmasking vs doxxing:

Doxxing vs. unmasking: * Doxxing = publicizing highly specific personal info of an individual (& freq. facilitates intimidation/threats). * Unmasking = publicizing name/identifying photo/city-level location for bystander accountability for someone's pseudonymous behavior.
ps... do you know who else can keep logs even if the KF admins won't? and who might be fielding requests from the FBI and USCP right now in light of the attempted swatting against MTG? Cloudflare. Soooo I wouldn't be feeling so safe against being unmasked if I were a KF member.
This is not a serious argument in favour of Cloudflare continuing to provide them with services, but it is a funny little consequence of them being in the middle of the flow of bits right now...
Here, I'll go first. Hi, my name is Liz Fong-Jones, Liz is short for Li-Zhen, and I live in Vancouver, British Columbia! My affiliations are in the bio. I spend my evenings advocating for transgender rights. How about you, Mr. *checks notes* "kill all the tr*nnies"?
That's literally the level of information involved in 'unmasking' - what does the person look like, what city do they live in, what name do they go by in their IRL community? And if you're ashamed about your online persona (exceptions for closeted LGBT+), you're in the wrong.
Doxxing down to the home address, identity theft enabling info, etc is a tool of intimidation because it can facilitate violence and threatens one's family. Unmasking is a tool of community self-protection so people can know not to associate with you.
