I’ve been boycotting McDonald’s for over a year at this point because they give free meals to Israeli soldiers. I don’t understand what McDonald’s has to gain from doing this.

I would think, since it’s a massive corporation with the goal of earning as much money as possible, that it would make more sense to prioritize paying customers rather than non-paying soldiers.

And yet, despite the fact that McDonald’s has lost customers because of its support for Israel, it still continues to support Israel. What is it about Israeli soldiers that makes staying in their good graces more important to the company than earning back the trust of its customers?

Because I’m not planning on buying any more fries from McDonald’s- in spite of how mouth-wateringly delicious they are- until the company stops giving free meals to the IOF.

All you "I won't vote for Kamala because of Gaza" people: HEADS UP!

You've got a wannabe dictator speaking to another wannabe dictator every fucking day to PREVENT A CEASEFIRE versus a candidate calling for a ceasefire.

Vote accordingly or I swear to gods you'll wake up one day and look back wishing you could change that one little decision.

iamnmbr3

It's been reported multiple times that Trump is out there encouraging Netanyahu to keep up the bombing while Harris and Biden are working to end it and yet some people dare to say they aren't going to try to get Harris elected and act like that won't directly result in more deaths and violence in this conflict. Shame on you.

Palestinians are literally out there right now saying Trump winning - which is what will happen if everyone doesn't get out there and vote for Harris - would be a worst case scenario for them (x). Don't you dare appropriate their struggle to try to justify your failure to do everything in your power to stop the Fascist GOP from getting into office.

Vote Blue all the way down the ballot. Lives are on the line. And if the GOP gets in you may not get a chance to vote again.

“I disagree with Kamala’s position on the war in Gaza..."

Bernie Sanders sets the record straight on Palestine and the election:

"| understand that there are millions of Americans who disagree with President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on the terrible war in Gaza.

I am one of them.

While Israel had a right to defend itself against the horrific Hamas terrorist attack of October 7th, which killed 1,200 innocent people and took 250 hostages, it did not have a right to wage an all-out war against the entire Palestinian people.

It did not have the right to kill 42,000 Palestinians, two-thirds of whom were children, women, and the elderly, or injure over 100,000 people in Gaza.

It did not have the right to destroy Gaza's infrastructure, housing, and healthcare system. It did not have the right to bomb every one of Gaza's 12 universities.

It did not have the right to block humanitarian aid, causing massive malnutrition in children and, in fact, starvation.

And that is why I am doing everything I can to block U.S. military aid and offensive weapon sales to the right-wing extremist Netanyahu government in Israel. And I know that many of you share those feelings, and some of you are saying:

"How can I vote for Kamala Harris if she is supporting this terrible war?"

And that is a very fair question. And let me give you my best answer. And that is that even on this issue, Donald Trump and his right-wing friends are worse. In the Senate, in Congress, the Republicans have worked overtime to block humanitarian aid to the starving children in Gaza. The President and Vice President both support getting as much humanitarian aid into Gaza as soon as possible.

Trump has said Netanyahu is "doing a good job" and has said Biden is "holding him back." He has suggested the Gaza strip would make excellent beachfront property for development. And it is no wonder Netanyahu prefers to have Donald Trump in office.

But even more importantly - and this I promise you - after Kamala wins, we will together do everything that we can to change U.S. policy toward Netanyahu. An immediate ceasefire, the return of all hostages, a surge of massive humanitarian aid, the stopping of settler attacks on the West Bank, and the rebuilding of Gaza for the Palestinian people.

And let me be clear. We will have, in my view, a much better chance of changing U.S. policy with Kamala than with Trump, who is extremely close to Netanyahu and sees him as a like-minded right-wing extremist ally.

But let me also say this - and I deal with this every single day as a U.S. Senator - as important as Gaza is, and as strongly as many of us feel about this issue, it is not the only issue at stake in this election.

If Trump wins. women in this country will suffer an enormous setback and lose the ability to control their own bodies. That is not acceptable.

If Trump wins, to be honest with you, the struggle against climate change is over. While virtually every scientist who has studied the issue understands that climate change is real and an existential threat to our country and the world, Trump believes it is a "hoax." And if the United States, the largest economy in the world, stops transforming our energy system away from fossil fuel, every other country - China, Europe, all over the world - they will do exactly the same thing. And God only knows the kind of planet we will leave to our kids and future generations.

If Trump wins, at a time of massive income and wealth inequality, he will demand even more tax breaks for the very richest people in our country while cutting back on programs that working families desperately need. The rich will only get richer while the minimum wage will remain at $7.25 an hour and millions of our fellow workers will continue to earn starvation wages.

Did you all see the recent Trump rally at Madison Square Gardens? Well, I did. And what I can tell you is that, as a nation, as all of you know, we have struggled for years, against impossible odds, to overcome all forms of bigotry - whether it's racism, whether it's sexism, whether it's homophobia, whether it's xenophobia, you name it. We have tried to fight against bigotry. But that is exactly what we saw on display at that unbelievable Trump rally. It was not a question of speakers getting up there, disagreeing with Kamala Harris on the issue. That wasn't the issue at all. They were attacking her simply because she was a woman, and a woman of color. Extreme, vulgar sexism and racism.

Is that really the kind of America that we can allow?

So let me conclude by saying this: this is the most consequential election in our lifetimes. Many of you have differences of opinion with Kamala Harris on Gaza. So do I.

But we cannot sit this election out. Trump has got to be defeated. Let's do everything we can in the next week to make sure that Kamala Harris is our next president.

Thank you very much."

It's really upsetting and I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but throwing away your vote actually doesn't do Palestine any good. Palestine will be under attack whether Trump or Biden get into office and that's a fact.

What's also a fact, is that if Trump wins, Project 2025 will be put into action and the United States will get inconceivably drastically worse for us. If you care about gay and trans rights, vote. If you're pro-choice, vote. If you care about education, vote. If you care about climate change, vote. If you care about women's rights and child safety, vote.

Palestine won't do any better if the citizens of the US are doing worse. VOTE.

Not that mainstream media would make a note of this, but Iran has said multiple times that it’s wishing de-escalate. Israel launched a drone attack against Iran a few days ago, but Iran shot it down without retaliation. It even actively played it down so that it didn’t have to retaliate, so that the confrontation could end where it did. It’s Israel that’s continuously attacking Iran and its allies. It’s Israel that’s trying to escalate this. It’s literally them.

stuckinapril

If Iran does decide to retaliate on a bigger scale, you best believe every western media will be painting it as the aggressor. Meanwhile, Israel is launching air strikes on every possible Arab country you could think of, as well as Iran. So many people are dying every second. Still no word of aid or medical supplies being permitted. Settler violence AND IOF violence has been getting so much worse in the West Bank. None of that resolution talk amounted to anything

There’s no question in my mind that Islamophobia is to blame. I believe that, ever since 9/11/2001, al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden have been thought of as the face of the Middle East, Arabs, and Islam. Not that Islamophobes would care about the difference, of course- they consider the three to be a package deal.

The destruction of the Twin Towers ruined the reputation of the Middle East, Arabic people, and the religion of Islam, because the people in charge of the US government decided that the three were guilty by association with bin Laden and al-Qaeda. To this day, the association remains in the minds of those in power.

They think of the Middle East as a “bad” region, they think of Arabs as “bad” people, and they think of Islam as a “bad” religion, all because of their association with al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden. Making matters worse is the fact that the US is run by Christofascist politicians who consider anyone who’s not Christian to be evil.

This is utterly terrifying. If Biden doesn't change course and/or people don't realize that letting Trump become president will be SO much worse for everyone, Palestinians included, then we're getting an eternity of Trump, because he's GOING to declare himself dictator and take our elections away. I've had a panic attack every day for the last 2 months because of this. I don't know what to do.

soft-cookie-aka-aquadrop

“An eternity” of Trump? 🤨

Look, I don’t want him to establish a dictatorship any more than you do, but to say that he’ll rule “for eternity” is blatantly false.

Donald Trump is not immortal, he is an elderly man who has, at most, a few decades left to live. Now, I certainly don’t want to suffer under his tyranny for that long, but that doesn’t change the fact that a few decades is not forever.

People in positions of power, no matter how untouchable they may seem, are just as mortal as you and I. They, too, will grow old and die someday.

No one rules forever, so take solace in that knowledge.

Here’s what I don’t understand.

All that Chris Kempczinski and whoever else is in charge of McDonald’s have to do is stop giving free meals to Israeli soldiers, and/or financially supporting Israel in any other way they might be doing, and they’ll get their customers back, including myself.

Why would supporting Israel be more important to them than getting back their customers? I would think that serving meals to paying customers would take priority over serving them to non-paying soldiers.

Unless, perhaps, Mr. Kempczinski and the other execs are scared that the IOF will bomb their houses if they stop giving the soldiers their free meals.

At this point I’ve seen enough photos and videos of Palestinian people’s corpses to make me feel like an amateur mortician. One thing I’ve noticed that’s mostly been consistent among the corpses is their jaundiced-looking skin. To me, it’s as if their skin had a set of red, green, and blue color sliders, and after they died, the red slider was turned down somewhat, making their skin look yellowish.

I wonder if my own skin will look like that after I die.

"This has to just be antisemitism in disguise because everyone cares suspiciously more about Gaza all the sudden than Ukraine or Syria" is a sentiment I've now seen a few times.

The thing is, no other atrocities have people defending them to my face right now. None. You can find thousands of users on Tumblr posting long diatribes about how Palestinians deserve indiscriminate death for various crimes ascribed to their leadership or simply that their deaths are tragic but acceptable collateral in what's supposedly just proportionate retaliation (which it isn't).

I have to go out of my way and dig deep to find anyone arguing that Ukrainian or Syrian deaths are for a greater good, or that you're the evil one if you express anger at their killers. But when it comes to Gaza, I can get hate mail for saying absolutely nothing other than "don't bomb children."

Just what the IDF fully owns up to, even boasts about, is also as bloodthirsty and sick day after day after day as any single isolated slaughter in my lifetime. Something that would normally spark international outrage for an army to engage in just once is evidently the IDF's typical fucking afternoon. And again, that's if you were to only believe what they themselves gladly confirm.

Do you think that’s what’s going on here? The idea of IOF soldiers killing Palestinians being “God-approved” killing? Same goes for torture and stealing and all the other crimes they’ve been allowed to get away with. It’s similar to the idea of protagonist-centered morality. As in, “it’s okay if we hurt them, but it’s not okay if they hurt us”.

The IOF opened fire on starving civilians trying to collect food aid murdering dozens and injuring an estimated hundreds or more they then crushed some of the injured by running over them with tanks. This was their “reason.”

soft-cookie-aka-aquadrop

What, did the IOF soldiers expect the people to calmly approach the trucks in an orderly fashion and politely request their food? After having not eaten anything for days?? They were starving, so of course they were going to mob the trucks, that’s how any starving animal, including humans, would behave. The IOF soldiers- heck, anyone else- would have done the same thing if they’d gone the same amount of time without food.

I’ve never starved before, but I do know from experience that once you get hungry enough, it becomes hard to think about anything else except eating. That gnawing feeling of emptiness in your stomach will grow harder and harder to ignore the longer you go without eating food, so I would imagine that, for the Palestinian people who’ve gone longer without food- and water- than anyone ever should, they’ve reached the point where hunger and thirst have completely taken over their minds. 😰

By that point, good manners are no longer possible. Food and water are the only things that matter. Only food and water. Politeness can only happen after the starving people’s appetites are sated.

I have had people literally try to tell me that Donald Trump would be better for Gaza if the presidential election really came down to Trump vs. Biden and I think that narrative has to have started as some spambot psyop or troll or something because Trump has called himself "the most pro-israel president ever" and Netanyahu himself urged for Trump to win 2020. Why are there people outright lying in comments on some of my very own posts that Trump would "stand up" to Israel. No he fucking wouldn't. Where is anyone even pretending to get this.

My birthday is next Sunday. During lunch today, my job coach asked me if there were any restaurants I like to eat at, because… some people like to eat out on their birthdays, I guess. Not me. 😒 But anyway, I told her the only restaurant I like to eat at is McDonald’s, but since they’re giving free meals to Israeli soldiers and there’s a boycott going on right now because of that, I’m not eating there. Then I started to tell her about the boycotts but she didn’t want to hear it. She just flat-out stated “I don’t want to talk about it.”

What do you want to do, then? 🙄 Pretend like the genocide’s not happening? Like that other job coach who erased the Palestinian flag from the drawing board after I drew it there? (I did it a second time, by the way, and she erased it again.)

It’d be nice if either of them cared even half as much about the Palestinians’ plight as the Black job coaches do.

What’s the name of the woman who vetoed the ceasefire, anyway? All the posts are just calling her “the US” as if she was the country itself. Obviously she’s not a country, she’s a person.

More specifically, she’s a person who’s decided to give up her morals and throw her lot in with white supremacists, perhaps in hopes that they would consider her “one of the good blacks”. Doesn’t she realize that white supremacists will never see her as an equal, regardless of how much she sucks up to them? In their eyes, a black person, or any person of color, who does their bidding is little more than a useful tool at best. But the moment she stops being useful to the white supremacists, they’ll turn their backs on her.

One of the staff at my special ed. program told me that he donates to the Salvation Army to help people in Palestine, but people on this website are saying that the Salvation Army is anti-LGBTQ and should not be donated to.

I’d like to print out a news article about the Salvation Army’s mistreatment of LGBTQ people, but all the articles I could find are from 2019 or earlier, and I also found statements from Salvation Army spokespeople denying that they’re anti-LGBTQ. I think something people don't understand (a poster i just saw helped me realize this just now) if Israel could, they would destroy more than just Gaza, Rafa, the entirety of Palestine.... they would (and are probably planning to) expand their destruction... if they could, they would destroy anything and everything that gets in their way. "this doesn't affect me, i don't live in Palestine" What happens when they expand what they are currently doing? What happens if they threaten to hurt other countries? what happens if they threaten to hurt you?

soft-cookie-aka-aquadrop

This is exactly what I’m worried about. Even if the genocide in Palestine were successful (god forbid), I have no reason to believe that the IOF would stop there. They’ve already killed some people in Lebanon, so I imagine that would be their next target.

The Nazis didn’t stop at Germany. Appeasing Hitler didn’t stop him from wanting to annex more and more European countries to Germany, did it?

image

No, it didn’t. So why wouldn’t the IOF want to take over more countries after they’re done with Palestine? Their genocidal conquest needs to be stopped before it has the chance to spill over into other countries.

The fact that the senators are being referred to in third-person rather than as “you” implies that the caller isn’t actually talking to the senators in this script. Does that mean that, all this time, people who’ve been making posts that tell their readers to “call their representatives” were actually telling their readers to leave messages over the phone for the senators to listen to later, and not to actually have conversations with the senators?

All this time, I’ve been too nervous to call senators or representatives out of fear of them not taking me seriously and hanging up on me. Yet I could have been leaving messages for them instead?? Is that the implication here??
