Throughout out the entirety of the series, it has been established that Amy is into Sonic. Taking that away takes the character away. Now, if they were to make the two siblings in the movie, ALL the games beforehand, like Sonic CD, Adventure, & Heroes, are GOING to look suspicious to newcomers.
