When I first heard about AI porn, my first thought was, “Great, now there will be less exploitation of women and men who have been in that industry against their will.”
I thought it might be a good thing. If people could generate whatever content they wanted with AI, maybe it would reduce the demand for real people being exploited, coerced, or trafficked into the industry.
But I was far from the truth.
The more I learned about AI porn and how it’s actually being used, the more I realized that this isn’t solving the problem. It’s making it worse.
Yes, it’s an opportunity for people in real life who aren’t in the industry to avoid exploitation. But all the negative aspects are so much greater than any potential benefit.
Because it’s creating entirely new problems that we’re not prepared to handle.
