NOTES

New update with some new perks to play around with and some tuned balance. Details are relatively self explanatory so I won’t detail them much here, so go check em out for yourself! I was going to add that Neighbourhood track we previewed last week, though I didn’t finish the enemies in time so that’ll happen next update instead.

One thing I’d like to highlight is the new “Big Sis” style for the Receptionists skin. If you aren’t active in our community, we held a character popularity poll last month with Vanessa being chosen by the people as Defend The Train’s undisputed queen.

While I said this poll was for fun and that the winner wouldn’t get anything… I totally lied. We intended to make a special style for whoever won, though not only is Vanessa an NPC, but she’s your boss so there’s NO WAY I’d just hand a skin of her to you guys without having to go through 1000 different hoops… So we settled with giving her younger sister Valerie an inspired outfit instead.

We thought this was cute so you can get yourself this as one of the random prizes in the Forest campaign. Chloe drafted out a couple ideas with option A being to literally copy & paste Vanessa’s outfit onto Valerie which woulda been mad easy but very lazy and boring. Option C was based off Vanessa’s attire from earlier concept art, though this was rejected since it’d have the same problem of the differently coloured arms looking ugly on a character model. So in the end we went with B as it felt the most original.

Vanessa winnin’ our popularity poll is a good enough excuse to add her signature revolver as a weapon skin, so be on the look out for that in the future when we got the time to give it the extra flare it deserves.
