Hey. In 2010 I was emailed a then-unpublished manuscript for something called "Eidophusikon" by a distant acquaintance who said that it was a very strange novel written by his attorney.

There is no author named in the manuscript.
I don't know if it is the masters or the Watkins. Once I have that sorted out I will probably read both.

What can anyone tell me about either person? Are they one and the same?

please post this to the subreddit, even if you dont read it

Which subreddit do you want me to post this to? I am not an expert redditor so I am not wholly sure what you are asking me to do.

here, of course, google drive or mediafire or whatever you choose. you have an important and rare piece of work in your hands

Now I understand--the book itself! Of course I will try to upload it. I may need some advice if my first effort fails.

Who was the acquaintance?

[–]BenjaminNormanPierce 3 points4 points  (4 children)

The email address has him as Magnus Norgaard. I only knew him from a couple of times that he attended the Socrates Cafe we once had in Madison, gathering and venue now gone by years. He was closed about his private life which I gathered had to do with a pursuit of Anarchist philosophy that was a good deal more practical than the norm. I don't think I saw him after he emailed the mss.

That was Jack.

Jack Masters=Magnus Norgaard? Interesting. I now know a lot more about both of them than I did (which is not much). Do I understand that this person is deceased? He seemed noticeably younger than me so that surprises me. How do you know that was Jack?

Magnus Norgaard was one of his regular pseudonyms,  he lived in Madison, referred to Vincent Watkins as his lawyer, and was perhaps the only one with access to a copy of Eidophusikon at that time.

Magnus Norgaard iirc is also a character in Poorly Planned Comics

Well both of them are authored by Watkins, one of them is just released under Masters’s name for an unknown reason. For more info on who they are check the pinned post, it is helpful!

Read the first can't find the second

[–]Papa-Bear453767[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Yeah I was able to get ahold of the epub for the first but I have zero idea how to read the second

Thanks! There’s no way to read it digitally is there

I assume you're confused because Logan references three travelers in DVR, but only meets two in TTT.  How did he know there were three?  Is this a mistake or an allusion to an interaction that takes place "offscreen" between TTT and DVR?

Well it seems like an odd thing to get hung up on, frankly.

[–]Papa-Bear453767[S] 1 point2 points  (4 children)

What

[–]Nearby_Ad3480 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I'm using "offscreen" as a metaphor for "without explicit depiction in the book."

[–]Papa-Bear453767[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Oh wait are you talking about the one with the rabbit cover? The one I read was the one written by “Jack Masters” (according to Amazon) and not by Vince watkins

[–]Nearby_Ad3480 2 points3 points  (1 child)

My bad, sorry, I was talking about the character Logan Lope de Vega, who must only appear in the rabbit book.  Pretty easy to get confused!

[–]Papa-Bear453767[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s fine! Btw how did you read the rabbit one? I can’t find any way to read it digitally

[–]SiggyJeepers 2 points3 points  (3 children)

eh

[–]Papa-Bear453767[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Did you not really like it I guess

[–]SiggyJeepers 2 points3 points  (1 child)

it could use some more action i think, its a real snoozefest as is

[–]Papa-Bear453767[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough

[–]ashikata612 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Yes, I have, I'm in the middle of reading it a second time too before I read Vincent's sequel with the same name.

I have lots of theories about the meaning of things in Eidophusikon too

[–]Papa-Bear453767[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are some of your theories
