In anticipation various age verification legislation bills, both here in Canada and in the US, we’ve made the decision to unilaterally and proactively enforce age verification at the DNS resolution level across all services.

How it Works:
We’ve partnered with Palantir to provide fast ID/KYC services which can verify your age through a simple selfie.
Effective immediately, when you enter your DNS settings into the easyDNS member panel, you will be prompted to “Verify ID/Age” before committing your new zone.
In under 90 seconds you will be age verified and your DNS settings will begin propagating across our global fleet of anycast nameservers.
ID/Age verification remains in place until you change your DNS settings, or until your zone TTL expires – so set those minimums out longer and back off your dynamic DNS updates if you want to reduce the number of ID/Age verification operations.
Our nameservers will respond NXDOMAIN for any unverified domains.
Thank you for your attention in this matter. Have a great day.

OMG! Thank you for protecting the free and open internet and making internet access easy. The last thing we need is for unverified children to have access to information! (yet we can also use the information we collect to spy on everyone else.) Do it for the children! This is a great message for today!
this is what we need. i am 54 years old and received a death threat on telegram from a 14 year old
Of course you partner with the most toxic company in the world Palantir. I will make sure to blacklist your company for services we support.
Look at the calendar.
You guys are complete fucking scumbags, no one asked for this.
Sir, this is a Wendy’s.
Awesome!
we should also work on adding a record type for age verification.
something like DOF record (date of birth).
Another idea is to verify age of dns requests, something like edns and reject any dns query for adult material!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION IN THIS MATTER!
i am very disappointed at your implementation of age verification… how can you be sure that the person trying to ACCESS my DNS records are of age? you should really be requiring age verification before returning the results for each DNS query!
Fair point.
Can you please ensure every query is also age verified? That would be epic!
This adventure that is our infrastructure just gets more and more interesting. My worry is that someone will try to mandate this everywhere before too long, just like having our PKI system require certificates that only last 10 minutes at a time.
Caught me. Thanks Mark, for making me laugh at myself!
I’ve often felt that there was too much speech online, I’m glad that EasyDNS is taking a strong stand to restrict the speech of people, ESPECIALLY children, who really should be seen and not heard…and best if not even seen!
