I would be the first to say that looks don’t matter, and that it’s a person’s kindness and energy that draws me in. But after years of living in cities like NYC and Boston, I’ve realized the way you dress and talk can affect how people treat you.
I am a bookish nerd. There, I said it. I’ve always had my nose stuck in books, maybe because it’s always provided a great escape when life felt overwhelming.
Some people are born smart, others work at it — I am part of the latter group, and it was my passport to experiencing the world, which may not have been possible otherwise.
One of the things about living in a major financial and technological hub like Boston is the importance of communication skills and appearance.
