ROM Hacks - NES
This band new hack for NES Tetris implements the “7-Bag” Random Generator, which means even piece distribution. No more S, S, Z, S, S, Z, L, Z - just sets of 7 unique randomly ordered Tetrominos. For the more “modern” players, this is the random generation which is used by modern tetris games, per the “Tetris Guidelines”
Note that this does not obliterate the game’s challenge. Indeed, it’s still Tetris, and it becomes a challenge of how fast you can go, and how quickly you can clear lines – not how lucky you can be.

ROM Hacks - NES
Well, it’s been over 5 years since the release of Dragon Quest III: Delocalized. At times, the authors were not sure if this project would ever reach completion, but they are delighted that it finally has.
With Dragon Quest IV: Delocalized, the Translation Quest team has provided a brand new, meticulously crafted English translation of Dragon Quest IV. It is based on thought-for-thought equivalency, rather than a one-to-one literal rendering of the Japanese. Every effort was made to produce natural, tonally appropriate English. This translation does not indulge in the kinds of needless liberties to be found in the official localizations. The aim is to provide an accurate equivalent of what the Japanese audience experienced.
Several additional tweaks were introduced that address bugs and design flaws, with the goal of delivering the most polished and complete version of the game available. These include but are not limited to:
- Fixed HP growth for Minea (Nara)
- Consistent punctuation handling in text engine
- Appropriate party access in dungeons
- Sensible Stray Metal Armor (Metal Babble Armor) cost
- Winged Zenithians
- Manual Tactics - credit to karmic
- Seamonsters Fix - credit to Jegriva
- Graphical Uncensoring - credit to MetHy
Feedback on any issues is welcome on the project thread at https://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php?topic=26951.0. It is our sincerest hope that the players of Dragon Quest IV: Delocalized experience as much fun and satisfaction in playing this as the Translation Quest team experienced in making it.

ROM Hacks - NDS
HeartGoldOrigins – Update Information Work on resolving the extreme power cliff between early‑game forms, mid‑game evolutions, and late‑game species is progressing steadily. The goal is a smoother, more consistent difficulty curve across the entire adventure. Upcoming changes include:
- revised trainer AI behavior
- updated route encounter tables
- adjusted movesets
- significant stat rebalancing
When Version 3 is released, it will appear as a separate upload / standalone mod page. Version 2 will remain permanently available as the Vanilla+ edition, designed to preserve the original feel of the game while improving balance and pacing.
Version 3 differs too strongly from the base game to be offered as a simple patch. Its design philosophy leans more toward a JRPG‑style experience in a Pokémon framework, with deeper combat, higher bulk values, and a more strategic progression. Some players may prefer the lighter Vanilla+ approach of Version 2, so both versions will remain accessible.
Video showcases of the update are planned. There is still a substantial amount of work ahead before the new release is ready. Have a fantastic day!

ROM Hacks - 3DS
Pokémon Ikiternion Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire modifies the original game to feature Triple battles as the main battle format, with Rotation battles as the secondary format. Level curves and similar balance adjustments are also made, and with field scripting, content is expanded with new features like Gym Leader rematches and new battle challenges.
This is the new version 1.1 with many new features, and the first Ikiternion ORAS to be published on RHDN; the 1.0 version was on Archive.org only.
Project history
Work on the first of the Ternion series, Ternion Black/White, began in November 2022. It was shortly followed by Ternion Black 2/White 2, but due to technical reasons all of the desired features could not be implemented and they were not released in public until 2025. The technical shortcomings were expected to increase with the last two games, Ternion X/Y and Ternion Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire given the increased complexity of 3DS software and the lack of research and tools. In a stroke of luck leaks enabled the compiling and modification of ORAS field scripts, allowing the planned Ternion ORAS to more closely resemble the envisioned end product. XY scripts are still not available – essentially the work on trainers is done on Ternion XY but it remains unreleased as it is not deemed to be in a good state without script support.
Resultingly Ternion XY is a missing ‘lost levels’ sort of release – but so is Ternion ORAS. Ikiternion is a branch that completely replaced the relatively vanilla Ternion branch because of the perceived problems in the original game’s experience mechanics and level curve. While Ikiternion focuses on endgame content, the aim has been for the scenario (story) to harmoniously continue into the endgame state.
Scenario
Indeed Ikiternion focuses on endgame matters, but significant work has been put into the scenario (main story) as well. The controversial Exp. Share item is not received until after the game has been completely beaten, and the opponent trainers have been beefed up and can compete better with the player’s available array of strong Pokémon, moves and strategies. Still, Ikiternion isn’t a ‘difficulty’ hack – the game simply puts up a bit of a fight now and can’t be trampled underfoot as easily. Some new experimental difficulty optons in the form of the “Expert Challenge” can be expected in the upcoming 1.2 version. Other changes include reducing the gift Latios/Latios to level 10 and holding back its previously held Mega Stone until after Mossdeep Gym – your starter’s Mega Stone is instead received on Southern Island.
A cool new feature working synergestically with the popular DexNav app in ORAS is the concept of Pokédex completion rewards – for every 20 Pokémon you catch, up to 200, you can collect a reward from Professor Birch, starting with a dozen Luxury Balls and ending with items like Assault Vest and Eon Ticket!
Those new to Triple battles will be surprised to discover that even the earliest battles with bugs and puppies will have clear choices and tactics in them. Pokémon, moves, abilities and such haven’t been touched, only experience yields have been reduced to deal with the unfavorable experience mechanics that were not designed with Triple battles in mind. Pokémon can be seen in a new light when they have to work well with their teammates, be positioned properly and take into accord the composition of the enemy team. Previously useless or niche moves like “Helping Hand” or “Wide Guard” take on a completely new meaning. Put some thought into your team building, because the later opponents don’t like to hold back! With Triple battles, the dangers are great, but so are the possibilities.
Endgame
The new events and features in Ikiternion are made to support the cycle – acquire new Pokémon, train them, raise them, and repeat. Trainers across a wide range of levels exist in the world for you to battle. All of the Gym leaders are itching for a rematch with you, each with 3 different teams. Maxie and Archie and a certain pair of Grunts can be rebattled in a new sub-quest. Moreover, many small new events have been spread out throughout Hoenn, like drinks at the cafe, rudimentary gambling at the Game Corner man, Metronome and Sky battles at the Battle Resort, an encounter with a Ribbon-crazy collector in Mossdeep City, a Horde battle and stone crafting atop Mt. Chimney and so on. They are there to add some interesting activities and points of interest to your wanderings. Other new events give interesting goals to work towards.
Exhibition Match
Once you’ve attained a monument at the Battle Resort or battled enough at the Battle Institute (which naturally also supports Triple and Rotation battles now), you become eligible for Exhibition Matches at the Battle Maison. Battle with Gym Leaders and others enough, and once the hype peaks, you can try the Exhibition Match. Participating are 13 trainers including those who would later become known as Frontier Brains, bringing their best level 100 Pokémon into a battle where the prizes are Battle Points, money and the Legend Ribbon for all your surviving Pokémon – but only if you used no bag items during the battle! Regardless of the outcome, once the Exhibition Match is done, you must accumulate hype by battling famous trainers again to get another chance.
Winstrate Affray
The Winstrate Affray is an exciting new challenge held at the Winstrates’ house just north of Mauville City. You will battle very strong trainers one after another without a break and without healing in between. The challenge ends once you finish a match with fewer than 3 Pokémon or if you’re completely wiped out. Afterwards, you can collect rewards based on how long you survived. If you use any bag items, you’re disqualified immediately! Strong teams in the level 90 range can use the Affray as a means to collect experience, and top level 100 teams can try to reach a new record. Legendaries, five-star Pokémon-Amie affection – use all means to overcome the opposition and survive! Except bag items, of course.
Transfer-only Moves
A radical new feature is the possibility to teach transfer-only moves to your Pokémon, such as Softboiled for Clefable. To power this special form of tutor, you must have convergence, which is gained whenever you release Pokémon. Thus, when you hatch and release Pokémon that don’t qualify for whatever you’re trying to get, you will still gain something tangible for the effort. Once you have enough convergence, talk to the old man by the big tree in Sootopolis City. Point out the Pokémon to be taught and the move to be replaced, if you have 4. Then, a random transfer-only move will be taught. If a move could not be taught for any reason (for example, Kalos Pokémon have no transfer-only moves) your convergence will be refunded. The game must be saved before each attempt, so you can’t just soft reset to get the move you want. This opens up some interesting new possibilities – you can combine the within-reach 5V breeding of ORAS with the exclusive old moves of older games. Even the common “Captivate” move is promising, as it can affect up to 3 opposing Pokémon in Triple battles.
The future
Many other small events and sub-quests are planned for next versions as well as the aforementioned Expert Challenge. This is planned to be a series of optional restrictions you can take, such as “Pokémon Centers cost money”. If you persist playing under a restriction, you can eventually collect a trickle of Battle Points for your efforts. All of these features are constrained by what field scripts can accomplish – hopefully more robust DLL compiling/modifying can be done in the future.

ROM Hacks - ARC
Capcom’s arcade classic Ghosts’n Goblins has a new release: Ghosts’n Goblins – Knight/Maiden Artoria Edition by GoodLuckTrying.
The hack fully swaps Arthur for Artoria in two variants, Maiden and Knight, with redrawn sprites, life and map icons.
Enemy sprites were fully redrawn, as well as most of their attacks. Weapon graphics are updated, Princess Prin Prin is redone, and the Citizen Dolls are replaced by “Capcom Gals”. Can you name them all?
Patches cover gng, gnga, makaimur, and “new gng”–style sets; FB Neo supports the gngmaiden, gngknight, makmaiden, and makknight romsets. Sprite work is by poody, with dink and phonymike credited for checksum bypass and graphics-tool support.
Hope you all enjoy this fourth release in the “Artoria” hacks!

ROM Hacks - SNES
FIGHT WITH HONOR is an SNES MKII romhack that makes it so you can FIGHT WITH HONOR!
Through the use of cutting edge technology and swearing at the mesen debugger, this game achieves the following:
- CHOOSE WITH HONOR
- regardless what you do in character select, Johnny Cage will always be selected in a 2p mirror match
- Sprites are modified so its easier to distinguish P1 vs. P2. P1 does not look like Conan O’Brien
- Johnny Cage after taking a ball breaker does not look like Tim Allen
- FIGHT WITH HONOR
- Every “action button”, including R,L,A,B,X,Y is mapped to trigger the “ball breaker move”
- Holding any action button will cause the move to come out in rapid succession
- If you do manage to get any other move out, it will shoot the wrong way.
- MOVE WITH HONOR
- While holding an action button and throwing “ball breakers”, you can move left or right to perform a scoot
- You can still jump, but all air attacks are disabled
- SHOUT WITH HONOR
- pressing select during a match will allow you to yell at your opponent at any time
- There is a chance a random sound effect will play when you land a hit
to break kayfabe for a moment. This romhack basically makes the v1.0 of MKII for the SNES, into a 2-player only game, where Johnny Cage is always selected, and the only attack possible is his “ball breaker”.
This Romhack is basically “Divekick” meets a Steven Seagal movie.
