The Land Transport Authority has just announced that express services will be added to the Thomson-East Coast Line with the opening of Stage 5 this year. They will skip every station between Sungei Bedok and Marina Bay, operating every 10 mins in off peak and every 5 in peak.
It is exciting to see express trains finally introduced to Singapore's rail network. They will be valuable in reducing travel time from the East to the City.

On a serious note, I do actually want to see express trains on the TEL, esp with it being linked to Changi Airport and Changi Airport Terminal 5 in the future.
