@gongel I've posted a screenshot in the IV modding discord which was just to show the icon for the Silenced Beretta but currently i don't really want to show much until it's finished.

@NorthStationX From what i recall i did use the icons from the PS2 version but then again i stopped working on the hud around late 2024 because i was getting burnt out from it so i probably might've used the wrong icons on accident.

I thought Playboy was wearing beta clothing, but it seems this build is too recent, so it must be from August 2007. That makes sense, just like the LCS build leak about that Salvatore Leone girl wearing black clothes, which was dated July 2005.

I've always considered "placeholders" different from "beta".

 

It's like consider VC Taxi in SA as beta - they were just using it cause they didn't have the SA model ready yet - different from Bullet that had its design changed (two striped one was really beta). 

 

So, I think using SA PS2 icons would be kinda out of place - IMO, of course.

Hey guys,

Im the dev behind the gta 4 xbox 360 static recomp project and Table Tennis decomp project, Naturally ive been decompiling and rev engineering the game a lot lately. I figured id excavate the debug build that leaked and present to you guys the cool things i found. I dumped the binary for all the debug data i could find. Heres a link to the debug data dump. Edit: You could probably use this data to figure out why the game crashes when you try to run it and figure out a path to potentially restoring the build to a working state

yeah, read a whole while back there were some strings of code left over for 3 planes (the "Fighter jet", the Andromeda and the Dodo). If I had to guess, its either code leftover from San Andreas or elsewhere (which on the topic of San Andreas, seems to be the base for IV in the first place if what ive read in the thread is correct) or that planes were actually supposed to appear in the game. Either way, my og post was mostly a meme tbh lol

Wait a minute, are you telling me that there's a recomp for GTA IV X360 project in development? 

 

That is just awesome, I've talked about this idea with a friend yesterday lol - we were talking about how the PC OG version is a cursed mess about its coding, x32, perfomance wise, etc, and he said exactly this - "if a port like RDR1 by D11 is not coming, a recomp/decomp from X360 would be the best alternative" - and I was surprised by the idea and how could I not have thought about it before... 

 

This is great news, I do wish the best luck on both projects!

That seems my old console trainer pack a few of the sco in there prob wont load because some would have a network check in them, anything i compiled into sco shouldn't have the network check. Also not sure what resources are in the beta build so some things might not load correctly as their file/game names might be different.

 

If i get some time i can maybe create something to help load certain models or play certain file in the xenia emu.

I doubt that. Frankly, DXVK is a good enough translation layer that fixes graphics performance, and by using it you're also not missing out on FusionFix with its loads of fixes. Arguably, the sole purpose of recompiling a game is to run it on a platform it hasn't been ported to.
