This subreddit is for sharing propaganda to view with objectivity. It is absolutely not for perpetuating the message of the propaganda. Here we should be conscientious and wary of manipulation/distortion/oversimplification (which the above likely has), not duped by it. "Don't be a sucker."

Stay on topic -- there are hundreds of other subreddits that are expressly dedicated to rehashing tired political arguments. No partisan bickering. No soapboxing. Take a chill pill. "Don't argue."

Looks like a meme template

[–]ReasonableTadpole809 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Probably could be used as one

[–]wizard680 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It gives me the "I consent" type of memes

I can't believe Russia gave Daesh their top secret gut-powered heat ray.

I spotted the non American Reddit user, yay!

Where are you from?

The guy's name's Daryl.

Haha, I actually am American. I just hate everything about calling them "ISIS": They're not recognizably Islamic, they're not a state, and that old Egyptian lady never did anything to deserve this shit.

Anti-american and anti-ISIS/anti-terrorist seems more central to the theme (the Russian missile is smaller than the hands).

*subtle* pro Russian propaganda then

Pro-Russia Syrian propaganda, probably

Oh, I remember

when russia was bombing various factions including but not limited to isis and especially focused their attention on the factions in Idlib, that now took control of most of Syria, they tried to create an image that they are not fighting opposition but fighting isis (which was controlling territories to the East, not Idlib, but in Idlib there was some al-quaeda too so they used it to justify airstrikes on Idlib even though the poster uses isis not al-quaeda)

the US and Saudi Arabia (and I think Turkey?) were not very happy with that, they were like stop bombing Idlib, there's no isis there

and the russian propaganda was saying "then separate terrorists from non terrorist opposition or else we will bomb them all, what is that al-quaeda Al-Sharaa guy doing there?" and that guy is now referred to as "a partner" by the same russians that tried to kill him with bombs in Idlib, because he now controls Syria. Can't call him a terrorist anymore.

tl:dr - this poster advocates for russian bombings in Idlib claiming that all the opposition are terrorists and the US and Saudi Arabia are helping them (while the US was actually bombing ISIS in Ar-Raqqah)

For Russia, the war in Syria was propaganda promoting its army as modern and powerful. The propaganda was so successful that not only did the West believe it, but Russia itself believed it too. The war in Ukraine dispelled this myth.

Not wrong.

Yes it is, its Russian propaganda. Russia was not altruistically trying to defeat IS. They consistently targeted civilian populations and Syrian rebels to bolster the horrifically brutal Assad regime.

The largest contributors to defeating IS in the region were the SDF, US Coalition against IS, Syrian Rebels, and Iraqi forces.

The primary objective of Russia in Syria was to prop up Assad, defeat his rebels, and secure a warm water port. No matter how many Syrians had to die.

Lol so you're including every other front except the one with Assad

[–]Gruejay2 11 points12 points  (5 children)

I suggest you look up how Russia behaved in Syria. It's not good.

[–]Illustrious-Okra-524 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

They correctly identified the enemy of Syria at least. Look who’s in charge now

[–]ylang_nausea -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You’re right I didn’t see the flag 💀

[–]DavidlikesPeace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But who took ISIS' two biggest cities, Putin?

Hint. It wasn't Russia or Assad's regime.
