Kwu Tung Station on the East Rail Line has fully entered the E&M phases and made a step forward with the successful delivery and positioning of all 12 escalator trusses. Given the limited work area, the project team adopted a carefully engineered approach, lifting each escalator section weighing up to 7 tonnes by tower crane and assembling them at the concourse level through a precise, segment‑by‑segment assembly process. Since the station topped out recently, a series of E&M installations and building services works have been pushing forward in full swing, getting ready for the station’s commissioning in 2027. #NewRailwaysGoBeyondBoundaries #KwuTungStation #EastRailLine #NorthernLink

The precision and coordination behind installing escalator trusses in such tight spaces really brings back memories of my time at MTR working on the SCL project, managing lift and escalator packages. Always impressive to see how the team continues to deliver complex E&M works with such high standards. Looking forward to seeing the station come to life in the next phases.

Really proud of our dedicated project team, and /or the E&M team, that recapped my memories in re-installing an new escalator in a very limited space of existing Entrance A of TST station some years ago. Similar weight of 5.6 tonnes in a section, all done on a Saturday night, safe and high quality. My great respect to our Project Team.

🎉 and Congratulations to 香港鐵路有限公司 for winning outstanding MiMEP Project Award as well ! 香港寶嘉建築有限公司 BYME Engineering (Hong Kong) Ltd.
