For the Summer Games, athletes representing Monaco first competed at the Games of the VII Olympiad Antwerp 1920, taking part in the sport or discipline of artistic gymnastics and athletics. For the Winter Games, one athlete representing Monaco first competed in the XIV Olympic Winter Games Sarajevo 1984, taking part there in the discipline of alpine skiing. No athlete representing Monaco has yet won an Olympic Games medal of any colour in the sports competitions.
At Beijing 2022, Monaco took part in Alpine skiing and bobsleigh, just as it has done at every Games since Torino 2006. In Beijing, Alpine skier and Olympic debutant Arnaud Alessandria contested three events, with a best finish of 13th in the men's Alpine combined. Also in Beijing, the NOC's 2-man bobsleigh team of Rudy Rinaldi and Boris Vain finished sixth. This was a significant improvement on their 19th-place finish in the same event at PyeongChang 2018, and remains the highest result in any event for the NOC at the Winter Games.
