This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal.
This thread is monitored daily for new appeals. All appeals will be responded to. We try to respond via batch posts at regular intervals. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.
The Forum Rules apply here.
Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't spam the thread about your appeal, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses.
- Since each appeal deserves careful consideration, it may sometimes take a while before you receive a reply. Please be patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

Fair enough, and like I've said, I'm ok with the TLP ban. Just surprised there is no read-only mode, but that's something I can also live with
Honestly I understand that I shouldn’t force my opinion on YMMV edits, but had I been allowed to post on the forums I would have run it through the cleanup thread first and I think I wouldn’t have brought up the ROCEJ issue, though I probably would have still used the “common sense” argument.
The Lady Emily thing, well I was extremely upset about her bogus allegations against Chuggaaconroy in 2024 but with that being so long in the past I have gotten over it and I don’t hold her any ill will unless she tries to go after him again (but honestly I’m 100% certain she will within the next year). I also don’t like her being brought up as a “minority” as if that somehow makes her actions less wrong, and equating a member of the LGBTQ+ community to a racial minority is an assertion I honestly disagree with because people are not born with LGBTQ+ preferences! However I do think that anyone uncomfortable with the gender they were born under should be allowed to transition and I do find transphobia revolting. I also completely understand why Lady Emily was uncomfortable with Chuggaaconroy’s behaviour and certainly don’t condone what he did at all.
~Gnome Titan I just simply helping out to fix Zero-Context Example in the GHWE forum but didn't realized that the forum rule requires the submittions should be short but there are around 6 examples since these character sheets were cluttered up by Zero Context Examples and majority of them were Square Peg, Round Trope so I'm only add examples that fit the trope's definition. Also, just simply thump out my old posts because of Old Shame and I just don't like to mention them once again.

I have to tell you that I don’t remember ever receiving any of these P Ms. Maybe there was some glitch or something, but if I was sent P Ms, I didn’t see them. Still, whatever rules you say I broke, I’ll need you to explain them thoroughly to me if you want me to understand, okay?
“Edit warring” means changing something on a page, but then someone changes it back, so maybe you try to change it back again. I’m supposed be using the Discussion page, though I’ll tell you that I have no idea how to access that. I can send a PM to whoever keeps changing it back, or I can go to the Ask the Tropers page in a worst case scenario.
Just so you know, more often than not, I have edited pages, and subsequently never saw it get changed back, even if I edited a page in a way that apparently resulted in these “edit wars”. So I was more than a little confused as to why this was happening, okay?
Please, just discuss calmly and thoroughly and civilly with me.
Yes, the folders of the characters as well, not even if they're Walking Spoilers.
Hey, I just remembered something. I did let my brother use my account once, so he may have been messing with it behind my back. I’m gonna go talk to him about this.
Septimus Heap I understand that I can be a little enthusiastic about the topics I write. But it's a misconception to think that I'm obsessed with a specific character from The Loud House. In fact, in my edits, I always write about all the members of the Loud Family. What happens is that my edits about Lincoln Loud may not evoke the desire of most of the fandom (pointing out the character's mistakes, when all the fans would prefer to forgive them and pointing out on sister's mistakes), and so they end up attracting more attention.
And besides Loud House, I also write about other animations that I enjoy, such as The Amazing Digital Circus and The Smurfs (1981).
Be that as it may, I understand that there are certain pages where tempers can flare (both mine and those of other users), such as What an Idiot! and Harsher in Hindsight. Therefore, I've decided that I will no longer write in them from now on.
And when someone reverts my edits, I'll think twice before editing again.
If there's anything else I need to correct, let me know and I'll take the necessary steps.
Oh, so sorry about that, I legit didn't remember those were under that umbrella. I'll definitely make sure to check while talking about recent or upcoming works from now on.
"Removing and re-removing entries about gay characters isn't something we can overlook". Fair. You didn't. 9 years is a long time. Not overlooking Besides Discovery themselves removed Culbert almost immediately, fridging him for what, 2 full seasons? I just felt it wasn't necessary for an entry for something that should be the norm. Thus my "irrelevant" commented edits.
Yes, I did read it. I understand that, in these situations, I'm expected to take my concerns to Discussion, private messages, or ATT to handle the dispute.
I will refrain from commenting further on the state of the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads for the remainder of their shutdowns.
The answer to life and everything is in this place As are the numbers most favored by Two-FaceIt's been a few months since I've received warnings about other issues while I've made a large volume of edits in that time, which I thought would show that I've improved. I will take these concerns into careful consideration as well upon my reinstatement, thank you for making me aware of other shortcomings.

Sorry, I do want the appeal to happen. It's just that I'm considering to no longer use the forums. So yeah, I would like to request an appeal for the suspension/ban to happen. I gotta take accountability for my previous behavior. Sorry for the last comment of mine, I didn't mean to cause a misunderstanding.
~Empoleon77 (appeal): That's good. We will hold you to that promise. Your suspension is released.
Don't condescend to me by assuming I don't know how moderation works. I've been a moderator on the official, company-run forum (now a Discord) for Star Trek Online for the last eight years. Feel free to check: my username's the same. I've dealt with spambots, trolls, hate speech, you name it. I've handed out punishments (including this morning), even permabanned people, but not one single time was it for civilly disagreeing with me.
So no, I refuse to sit here and be insulted for trying to prevent harm to the wiki by unnecessarily bringing back unhealthy pages.

Trust me, I'm an engineer!
Not agreeing with my editing for the possessive use does not justify my being suspended from editing at all.
Just because I understand does not fix my being unable to edit anything at all.
I do not feel I am imposing anything at all since my editing is influenced by William Strunk Jr's "The Elements of Style".
The tips also work with every type of English with the exception of the spelling variations, none of which I have violated.
I just want to be able to edit again, and my complaints on this matter are justified.
I don't deserve to be suspended from creating let alone editing my troper page.
All I want is for this suspension to be removed.

My editing is influenced by William Strunk Jr's "The Elements of Style", which was later revised and updated by E.B. White.
