Turns out, building a shooting range isn’t as simple as “hey, we should do that.”
In Kentucky, that idea turned into the Veteran’s Memorial Wildlife Management Area Shooting Range, an investment in outdoor recreation, built with support from Wildlife Restoration funds. That means dollars generated by hunters and recreational shooters are going right back into conservation, education and access for the public.
The result? A modern, ADA-accessible facility with 20 shooting lanes, space for rifle and pistol practice, and an education center that will help train the next generation of safe, responsible hunters and shooters.
This is what it looks like when state agencies, federal partners and local communities work together to get things done.
