Academic dishonesty and the manipulation of history:
Ahmad ibn Hanbal; the burning of books of 'Sahaba' crimes, cancel culture within narrators, refusal to write and listen to selected narrations and the burning of the narrations of the Prophet

.
When Ahmad Ibn Hanbal was presented with a book of sahaba crimes, he called anyone who collected such books as 'evil' and praised the burning of such book, promoting the action to be rewarded by God.
Note: Narrations of sahaba crimes were so prominent that books were written
When Ahmad Ibn Hanbal was asked whether one should write down narrations that contained the wrongdoings of the 'sahaba' as they heard it, Ahmad Ibn Hanbal spoke about how he would strike-off (erase) of the wrongdoings.

Note: Abd al-Razzaq predates Bukhari
In a narration of Abu Bakr ordering Khalid ibn Walid to kill Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (backstory: in his prayer), Ahmad Ibn Hanbal speaks on how he does not like to write down such narrations.

سير أعلام النبلاء - ج 5:
https://ia600500.us.archive.org/11/items/FP11950/san05.pdf… This is proof in itself that 'beliving' alone is not enough, neither is 'emigrating' alone is enough, nor is 'Jihad' alone enough.
What's more, even if you do all 3, it has to be in the 'way of Allah'
Lastly, let's say that the Sahaba you love to praise are included in the verse - which they're not.
It says 'for them is forgiveness and provision', at that given time. Does that mean all their crimes will be forgiven and they can keep sinning?
Abu Bakr burnt 500 narrations of the Prophet after spending the night tossing and turning about how detrimental these narrations would be
These narrations were written by Abu Bakr, and he only died 2 years after the Prophets death
