A teenager who was part of a "network" of paedophiles sharing vile child sexual abuse images and stories about children being raped has avoided prison.
When police examined Zack Spencer's phone they found a collection of indecent images - including images of young boys being orally raped - and found he had been swapping images with other people.
Swansea Crown Court heard that when being taken to the police station the then 19-year-old told officers he was "highly sexed".
Craig Jones, prosecuting, told the court that in March 2022 police executed a warrant at the defendant's home address and seized his mobile phone.
A triage examination of the device showed the presence of indecent material contained in the Kik messaging app, and Spencer was arrested.
In his interview local Rotary member Spencer gave officers a prepared statement in which he denied having a sexual interest in children and said he would leave group chats when he became aware of what kind of material people were sharing.
The court heard that a subsequent forensic examination of the defendant's phone showed a total of 77 illegal images and video clips including 11 of Category A showing the most serious kinds of sexual abuse and rape, along with extreme pornographic images and prohibited images of children.
An examination of conversations between Spencer and other users on Kik - including one calling himself "HandsomeSteve85" - showed the defendant had been exchanging images with contacts, including sending Category A images to others.
The prosecution barrister said on the evidence in the case the defendant had been "part of a network which facilities the sharing of indecent images of children".
Zack Spencer, now aged 23, of Carmarthen Road, Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire, had previously pleaded guilty to possession of indecent images of Categories A, B, and C, distribution of indecent images of Categories A, B, and C, possession of extreme pornography, and possession of prohibited images of children when he returned to the dock for sentencing.
With one-third discounts for his guilty pleas Spencer was sentenced to 20 months in prison suspended for two years.
He will be a registered sex offender for the next 10 years and was made subject to a five-year sexual harm prevention order.
Another one that’s escaped the sentence. Vile

I was groomed into it at my lowest point, I am deeply disgusted with myself that I fell into the same lane as those freaks. The police wanted nothing to do with it because they knew the ins and outs of the case. The cps took it on and chose to crucify me. I was 18 at the time during lockdown. Bet it doesnt mention any of the things that happenee to me leading up to that point. I abhor anyone who would put children at risk and im being punished for something that happened 5 years ago.
Yes I am deeply angry at myself, yes I have tried to kill myself over the fact I was dragged into this and let myself get involved in it despite being a time when I was suffering psychosis.
Learn the facts. I have a niece that I would go to jail over if anyone harmed a hair on her head

WTF how come all these vile perverted bastards keep getting away with a slap on the wrist. It’s about time the serious harm that’s been done to these children in these cases is reflected in the sentencing
