7yo peeing pants

This isn’t an “accidents happen” thing. No idea why, I was one of the few people who potty trained her. I asked her about cues, if she gets them or if she ignores them. She ignores them. She said she just doesn’t feel like getting up or Leaving what she’s doing. She’s undiagnosed, but definitely has ADHD.

Accidents at school, at home, at night. Every day. (No sort of SA which would explain, but fortunately not the issue here) How do I make this stop? I suggested pull ups of some sort but she was humiliated by this idea, but it’s gotten to the point that she doesn’t go to the bathroom unless I ask if she needs to and kinda pressure her to w the “look”. I mean it got to the point that I was lying in her bed and felt my leg was wet, assumed it was sweat, then smelled it all over. She hadn’t laid in it since last night. It’s disgusting honestly, asked her about it and she said “all the blankets are wet too”. She’s okay w it and it’s gross. I just don’t want to ruin her self esteem while fixing this issue.

A pediatric urologist thinks that most daytime enuresis is due to constipation. You might think they to every day so cannot be constipated but that is false. Feces can leak around an impacted area. The impaction presses on bladder leading to wetting. I suggest getting the book “it’s no accident” or the website whose name changed from the book name but you should be redirected. Talk to your pediatrician and ask for a referral to either a gastroenterologist or urologist or whatever the pediatrician suggests.

Agreed, seems like constipation. Even if they’re popping daily, they could be not clearing the colon fully. Check with the pediatrician, but it’s likely a two week course of half a cap of Miralax and trying potty after breakfast and dinner daily will get the kid back on track and no more pee accidents.

Just out of curiosity, does she have a language delay? Expressive or receptive?

Seven is old enough to start and run washer and dryer. Started mine at 5 years old once a week with bedroom sheets. You can write directions and tape to washer and dryer. In addition to clean up I would take away whatever was so distracting that child could not force herself to use the toilet. It’s a logical consequence. She was too distracted to use the toilet the distraction disappears for at least a week.
