Today, I had the honor of participating in a meeting with the members of the Japan-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group at the invitation of its esteemed Chairman, H.E. Mr. Kishida. During the session, I presented Iran’s positions on the ongoing military aggression by the U.S. and Israeli regimes.
Speaking on behalf of the Iranian nation, I stated that this is not Iran's war; it is a war on Iran in blatant violation of int. law. I emphasized that the int. community stands at a crucial juncture, facing a choice between upholding int. law and the UN Charter or descending into lawlessness. I noted that any lack of clarity in this choice will lead to serious consequences. Furthermore, I stressed that the aggressors have effectively taken the region and global energy security hostage.
I reiterated that while the noble Iranian nation will continue to defend itself with strength and honor, it is the responsibility of the global community to ensure a permanent and guaranteed cessation of this illegal military aggression. Highlighting the thousand-year-old historical friendship between Iran and Japan, I expressed my belief that Japan possesses significant capacity to join the int. community’s efforts in this regard.
The meeting concluded with a productive exchange of views, and I thank H.E. Mr. Kishida for his leadership in this endeavor.
