Who needs to go to Cannes to get up close and personal with the stars. On Friday night, Taiwanese actor Chang Chen and Hong Kong director Wong Kar-wai mingled with friends, fans and the paparazzi at Fendi's private screening of Eros at UA Pacific Place. The film comprises three brief views on erotic love directed by Wong, Stephen Soderbergh and Michelangelo Antonioni. After watching Wong's interpretation of erotic love in his segment, The Hand, you will never underestimate the power of a hand. Chang (pictured with co-star Gong Li in the film) said he had watched the movie more than 60 times.
Earlier the same day, the Post published an interview with Wong in which he remarked, 'Young audiences, particularly in Hong Kong, don't have patience in watching movies'. And when CitySeen asked if the director had anything further to share, he said he was very happy.
Chang, who wore white sneakers with a Fendi suit, received a pair of white boxing gloves as a gift from Wong. 'Chang has been to Cannes many times,' says Wong, 'but this is the first time he is there as the leading role. The boxing gloves symbolise a knockout at Cannes.'
