Marian Gold, born Hartwig Schierbaum on May 26, 1954, is a renowned German musician and songwriter best known as the lead vocalist of the synth-pop band Alphaville. Born and raised in Germany, Gold's musical journey began in the late 1970s, however, it was in the early 1980s that Gold skyrocketed to fame with the formation of Alphaville, a group that would go on to release some of the defining chart hits of the decade.
