If you haven’t met me yet, I’m Vana, a fourth year student pursuing a double degree in Information Systems and Business Analytics, with a minor in Intelligence and National Security Studies. I hope to continue at KU Law to pursue a J.D. in Intellectual Property Law alongside a Master’s in Homeland Security.
I’m often told I’m soft spoken and calm, and I hope that comes across. I believe in treating everyone with civility and doing what I can to support those around me. A wise man once told me, “Seek first to understand, then to be understood,” and I try to live by that.
As a student, I’ve seen many of the everyday challenges we face, and I want to be part of improving them in a meaningful and thoughtful way. I also hope to help foster an environment where we can talk with one another, despite our differences. I’m grateful to be running with Mia as part of the Sunnyside Coalition.
I’m Mia and I’m a third year student double-majoring in Political Science and Data Science and minoring in French. My goal is to help make the world a better place for everybody using data-driven public policy.
During my time here, I’ve been very engaged in the campus community as a member of the Honors department, various KU choirs, and groups like Student Veterans of America. My passion for learning about and advocating for my fellow students brought me to Student Senate almost two years ago. Within my positions across campus, I’ve worked hard to build relationships and develop new skills that will make me an effective leader of the student body.
I aim to approach every issue with kindness and honesty because I believe each student deserves to feel supported by and have trust in their institutions. We won’t be able to fulfill the desires of every student, but Vana and I, alongside the rest of the Sunnyside Coalition, will certainly make your year brighter. Rock Chalk!
We are Mia Keene and Evanna Stark of the Sunnyside Coalition.
If elected as your presidential duo, we will work to raise awareness of available resources, organize meaningful community events, and actively address the issues that impact student life.
