i hadn't played the game for nearly a year because i didn't have enough space on my computer, but i've recently been able to play again & the very same bug that happened over a year ago is STILL happening with this mod, so i've gotta ask, is there just no way on the planet to fix the fact that the love test flat out refuses to acknowledge astarion's existence even when you're partnered with him, no matter how many online fixes you try? as long as this mod is in the game, it's IMPOSSIBLE to get the love test to even acknowledge him... is there truly no way to ever get my astarion romance content if i use this mod?? 😭

Hi. This mod has always worked for me, but for the last couple of days, I can't get through more than one complete round of combat with more than five party members. CTD during rounds one (usually) and two with a party of six or more.
Hi, I've been loving this mod so far. One issue I've noticed is that while in conversation with an NPC on PC, I am unable to switch between all additional party members during the conversation. It only shows me 4 that I can switch between.
Since the most recent BG3 patch, I can't use the mod beyond increasing the party to 5. I hope there is a fix coming.

Hello. Excellent mod. I always play with it. After the latest update, a problem arose. The game crashed when I tried to increase the group size. I updated the game and several mods. I disabled the most likely causes, but the error persisted. Has anyone else experienced the same thing?
hello since the recent uptdate of the 02/16/2026 i can no more play with 8 character. when i am with the good amount of character i have good frame rate, but when i have more the game drop the frame rate to 10 FPS
I love this mod, however one thing I have noticed (and I don't know if it's something that can ever be fixed), is that in cutscenes, after the game has selected the members of your party to be in the scene, you get some party members lines, however they are invisible and there is no audio for the lines.

Hi, I have a question about using this mod after the game has already started. We're currently at the owlbear encounter, and one of my friends wants to join us as a fifth player. Our fourth player went to sleep, so we decided to install the mod for this session. However, every time the new player joins, they take the spot of the fourth player instead of creating a new character. I'm wondering if installing the mod mid-game is causing this issue. Do we need to have the mod installed from the start of the game, or is it okay to install it during the campaign?
My brother in Christ, the mod description specifically says it “does not allow you to have more than 4 players in multiplayer.”
Not sure if this mod is just conflicting with some others such as the improved hot bar mod and other UI mods, some gear mods, or if having a larger party causes the game to be unstable in areas, but I'm starting to experience constant crashing in both the end of act 2 and now the entirety of act 3 whenever my party is more than 6 members. Anytime i'm in the moonrise fight with more than 6, crash. Any dialogue or fight in act 3, crash. The only time the crashing stops is when i reduce party size to 5 or 6. Has anyone else had this issue?
Hello! I'm not sure if you will see this but; is this mod incompatible with BetterHotbar2? Ever since I got BHb2 the spells do not come up and I am unable to change my party limit/auto-dismiss my party :(.. Thanks in advance!
It is compatible. You just have to drag the all the hotbar separator all the way to the left. Once you dragged all of it to the left, you will see the temporary spell slot will appear from the right side. Hope this help!
Hiho. Ich hoffe, dass ihr mir vielleicht als Community helfen könnt. Ich hab den Mod installiert und am Anfang hat er auch noch geklappt. Jetzt wird er mir in game nicht mehr angezeigt, obwohl er installiert und aktiv ist und das Spiel mich bei Spielbeginn auch darauf hinweist ihn zu aktivieren, wenn er deaktiviert ist. Ich kann trotzdem meine Party-Größe in game nicht verändern. Ich hab das Spiel geupdated, die Mods ebenso und dennoch funktioniert es nicht. Ich weiß nicht, was ich machen soll. Ich hab nur Mods, die in BG3 selber installierbar waren heruntergeladen und insgesamt auch nur diesen und den Mod, der die Level erhöht. Bei meinem Freund, mit dem ich zusammen spiele wird es alles noch angezeigt und wenn wir zusammen spielen kann er die Party-Größe auch weiterhin verändern. Aber ich kann nichts daran machen, sowohl alleine als auch zusammen nicht. Hat einer eine Idee, was ich falsch mache oder anders machen kann? Danke euch!

I want to know if you can have all the base game companions with a full multiplayer party
MOONRISE TOWER SAVE FILE CRASHING If you are experiencing crashes while loading a save file at Moonrise Towers using this mod. You have too many active companions, send all but three back to the camp. So far in Act 2, Moonrise Towers is the only location where if you have more than 3 companions (Max party of 4) and you save with 4+ companions and try to load that save, the game will crash.
Playing multiplier with a friend, mod been fine the entire time however when we use the boat to travel to the area the the nether brain is, it is not loading the cuts scene then will eventually load us into the area but we cant move or to anything. Anyone else seen similar? if we skim down to 4 party members it works fine. Playing on xbox
I just had this issue with two other players, 2 on PC one on PS5, I had my other players quit, and then I alone went on the boat and got the cut scene, and had them rejoin after that cut scene was over and it worked!
Hey, we've been using this mod for awhile with no issues, but after not playing for some time I just came back to my game and it wouldn't load at all, but disabling the mod made it load just fine. Is anyone else having this problem and would anyone know how to fix it? Multiplayer game, both on PC, using in-game mod manager. When trying to load the game it just gets stuck at 100% and doesn't actually load in. Games without the mod enabled load just fine.
To anyone who might be struggling to get this to work like I was (I am dumb apparently) you have to use the passives option at the bottom of your hotbar where your common/items are ect. I was trying to toggle it through K then common.
Sorry, what's the spell needed to extend the party? I'm not seeing anything out of the ordinary in my hotbar.
you have to activate the associated passive first, if that helps?
For those having any issues, you need script extender for this mod. My friends could not join each other until they did.
I'm experiencing an issue where the game crashes after defeating Ketheric and taking the portal to Moonrise. I have found that the game crashes after about 2 to 3.5min only when there are 15 people in the party. I have all the recruitable companions in the party, and Minthara sitting on Ketheric's throne. Interestingly, it does not crash when at Camp. Edit: The game still crashes with 14 members at about 14min. Honestly, not sure what the issue is now. Edit2: The game crashed because Minthara joined the party, bringing the total to 15

The mod is great, but there’s a problem. I’m playing with two friends — one of them had Lae’zel as a companion, and I had three companions with me. But after reloading the game, all of my companions switch over to my other friend, the one who didn’t have any companions. Is there any way to fix this?
I'm having trouble this adjustable party is it only for NPC players you get or can u have it also for real players to play with u
It is only intended for NPC, it doesn't change the fact that you can only have four players in one party
Hello and thank you for this mod, I apreciate it a lot ! But I encoutered a probleme in act 1 when I am going to the Gnoll warlord Flind attaking the zhent caravan. If I enter this event with more than the 4 original slots in my team then the game will crash after the next long rest. So I tried different things with party limit to seven that gave me a crash at long rest - every dialog options with the zhents - diminishing graphics - getting in another part of the map to get a long rest - having a long rest in a different environment Then I tried to shreck down to four the party limit before the encounter and the next long rest went right, but if toogle up the party limit to 7 after the encouter and before a long rest and speak to another character on the camp, then the game crash instead of starting the dialog... I think that I managed to get through this problem by reducing to 4 before the encouter and then having a long rest and then getting up to seven after the long rest. But I don't know if it will be a long term solution. I just noticed that Flind dialog did not trigger during this encounter on none of my tests. Can you have a look on this?
I'm encountering a problem where I suddenly can't properly dismiss my party members. When I try to dismiss someone, they just leave the party but still remain nearby instead of returning to camp. Using the spell that reduces the party size to 4 also just makes everyone leave the party without actually sending them back, which ends up preventing me from taking a long rest

I noticed that the spell to reset the party to the original size after a long rest is not showing up sometimes, like after specific video sequences or in some camp areas. What could cause this ? Edit: this seems to be caused by a mod incompatibility, I'm playing a new character with different mods now and the issue isn't there anymore. Now I just need to find out which mod...
I'm encountering the same problem here too. It hasn't shown up since act 1 and im in act 2.
I'll try to recreate the issue on a new playthrough, doing some troubleshooting with mod incompatibility Edit: I noticed it starts happening as soon as Scratch joining my camp, so I guess some mod incompatibility with mods that change scratch in any way?
There's a mod that changes the start of combat's intuition dice rolls from D4 to D20 (I've never played table top D&D but this is the default option, but was simplified in BG3) making it a lot more unpredictable who goes first & adds more randomness, I've been using that for a couple of days & this mod works brilliantly alongside that & any mod that adds more enemies. I've used this alongside the extra enemies mod for a couple of months, really enjoying how this has been able to work so faultlessly, really helps rack up inspiration bonuses if out have that uncapped & build or lower your reputation with all of your party without needing a mod to do that. One of my favourites out there, certainly one of the best mods.
Hello Pixel! Since the new patch was released, I am unable to add more than 6 members to my party (the amount I had before the patch was released). I am playing on PC. Any help with this issue or update to the mod to work with the new patch would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for your hard work!!
same issue. i can increase the members above 6, but the 7th member add will tell me my party is full (in a nice way). Do i need to rest or something else for the change to take effect?
Hi Pixel, Since the hotfix34 (09/23/2025) the L2 menu for party gestion crashed the game - PS5 pro. I hope you can fix this for all of us ! Thanks a lot for your mod 💜💜

I have the same Problem! Game is unusable at the moment... The game consistently crashes when outside of camp and changing characters via L2. Adjusting the party size to 4 doesn't make the crash disappear. Please check if there are any necessary adjustments to the mod. Until then I'll have to wait... Thank you!
PS5 Fat also. Sometimes can be fixed by changing party size (increase - apply - decrease - apply), but after loading save it crashes.
I've increased my party size to 11, but it's not allowing me to take on more than 7 and asks me to swap/send someone back to camp.
Same, I currently have 8 and the game won't let me add more even though my party size is increased. None of them are mercs, they're all game characters, maybe that's the issue? I have my Durge, Minsc, Karlach, Jaheira, Minthara, Astarion, Shart, and Lae'zel, couldn't have Gale in the team even though party size was increased to 12. I'm on PC if that makes a difference

Hi. I noticed an issue with companion reactions, and I think it might be this mod since others have commented the same thing. I’m on console (PS5) and for some reason, during cutscenes, when a companion is supposed to react to something, the camera cuts to the wrong companion and they just stand there silently while the subtitle of the correct companion dialogue pops up. It doesn’t play the voice line or anything either. I don’t think it happened at all in Act 1, but for some reason, it got more common the further I got into the game and only seemed to happen to main and companion quests. Not sure if it helps, but from what I remember, it happened during the cutscene entering the shadow cursed lands (mountain pass route), during the cutscene when I tried to enter Wyrm’s Crossing, Astarion’s cutscene after defeating Cazador (both when he ascends and rejects ascension), and the Dark Urge rejects Bhaal cutscene. I’ve tried loading old saves to trigger the cutscene again to see if that would fix it, but that’s been hit or miss and doesn’t seem to work that often anyways. I also tried separating the party and leaving all but my character and three companions far enough away to where they won’t be including in the cutscene, and that worked better, but sometimes it would just cut to an open space with no companion or dialogue but the subtitles would still be there again. It even did that when I had that companion in my party during the cutscene before their bugged reaction triggers.
Hello, thank you for this mod I've been using it extensively thru my other play-thrus, but as I get further into Act 1. I noticed I am missing long rest events and cut-scenes like another user posted down below. One example is the fight with Shadowheart and Lae'zel not triggering, or having already happened and not getting the cut scene and one outcome persists over the other where one character was off'd but is still alive in the camp, if i'm not using them in party. I usually only run with 6 members active. I've also noticed I've missed some of Astarion's scenes to about him turning into a vampire or certain ones just don't trigger.
I'm not sure if it's this mod causing it, but it seems to be the most likely. I can't leave the Wyrm's Lookout camp. I've tried leaving people at camp and only having 4 in my team, I've tried reloading, I've tried resting again, but not have works and now I'm softlocked
(CONSOLE MOD) I am in moonrise towers, and I notice that the party adjust icon on my radical bar is missing, I look and see it is still installed and in my passives but there is no way for me to see it in my radical, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling as well as resetting my PS5 nothing works, and I can't select it in my passives to put it on my radical. can you fix it?

Hi there! My partner and I have been playing co-op with this mod and have been loving it so far, but one big thing we've noticed is that we've been missing a lot of the dialogue events that happen during long rest, for ex: Laezel and Shart fighting, Karlach and Wyll confronting, and discovering Astarion's a vampire. We actually saw the scene where Astarion sneaks off, but I think we might not have had as many party members at the time. We're currently at 8. We also have the party split between the two of us, aka 1 control 4 and she controls 4. And we've noticed that if I try to talk to any of her characters at camp, they refuse to talk to me, saying "not the time" or some sort. And it's the same when she talks to my characters We really love the mod and appreciate all the hard work you've put into it! But just wanted to post this hoping for any potential solves, since the story and dialogue are really important for us. We have been getting all of the spontaneous banter though, which has been awesome!
Has anyone had an issue with this mod causing party members to provoke opportunity attacks on other party members? My party keeps attacking each other and even the enemies are doing it to one another as well XD any help would be great thanks :)
great mod and i love the fact that we can use it to have as many followers/companions as we wish. however i do have one small little gripe with it. and im not sure why your mod causes this. but it does. and respectfully. the issue i am having is in regards to one spell that it interfears with. and that is the produce flame cantrip spell. for some reason with this mod. whenever i try and use produce flame. the icons don't automatically show. i have to physically go into my spell book and place the produce flame icons into my slots. could you please do an update/fix with your mod please. so that it does not interfear with the produce flame cantrip. thank you pixellbytes. again as i say i love your mod and what it allows the bg3 playerbase to do. i just would like for that one fix to be done, then the mod will be absolutely perfect. not sure why again it is doing it but if you could do that fix. it would be great.
hello! me and my friend have encountered an issue with crossplay potentially, i have no access to testing various connection types unfortunately. when we have an increased party I have a crash that sends me to the main menu with a "connection to server timed out" error message, its hard to tell if this mod is causing the crash but a look into it wouldn't go amiss, its a great mod and I'd like to continue our playthrough with it, I've tried all the other fixes i could find and it boils down to a mod issue, we also swapped hosts and had the same issue. im on PC they're on PS5
I love you mods and have small request regarding your spells for this mod and tactics mod on the combat wheel. They are annoyingly persistent and will not stay where I move them or remove them from my combat wheel. They keep wanting to move closest to the front wheel, if all slots are taken, it generates with a new 3rd wheel. A fix for this would greatly be appreciated for this. I personally prefer them on my last wheel slots. Thank you for reading.
Great mod! Slowly working my way through Act 1 with my new army. Only issue I'm running into is that occasionally when in a cutscene, it cuts to the wrong person - who just silenty stands there with someone else's subtitles on the lower third of the screen. It's a bit of a bummer to miss out on the voice acting/animations for different moments throughout the game.
This mod works for me up until Act 2 when it crashes nearly constantly. Tactician Enhanced works great, but this one I can't really use.
After last patch, this mod has no longer worked for me. If I start a new game with it, I do not get the spells to adjust party limit when toggling on. Previous saves with this mod are stuck at whatever party limit I set before. When long resting, I have to manually have each extra party member stay at camp before resting.
I can't even get the game to start with it it crashes the loading screen
That might not be a problem with the mod itself. There's a sporadic issue where the mod configuration becomes corrupted, causing the game to crash (or throw an obscure error then crash), and I've personally had it happen a few times under a variety of different circumstances. If you're still having a problem getting the game to load to the main menu, paste this into the Windows Explorer address bar: "%APPDATA%\..\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public" That will take you to the default location of where BG3 config profiles are stored (among other things). It's the same as typing "C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\..." Once you're in "..\PlayerProfiles\Public" folder, just delete the "modsettings.lsx" file. You can back it up if you want to, but the game will automatically recreate a clean version of the file when you launch. That's worked for me when it comes to not being able to load the main menu, as well as when UI mods break and things like my minimap disappear. Hope that helps!
Is anyone else having an issue with this mod? when I try to start a new modded run with it enabled it crashes my game, it won't run. Anyone know how to fix it?
What other mods do you have? Honestly can't say that this mod has ever caused crashes for me or been the reason for my issues even though I'm playing with 700+ other mods - there's a chance that a different mod could be giving you this problem?
I have tested it with and without a bunch of mods, as well as alone and it crashes my game, won't allow me to start. I've played with the mod before and had no issues, but post patch 8 I can't get it to work.
Is there a way to stop the toggle forcing itself onto your radial wheel every time you rest or load up the game? I've set what I want from it and like to set up my wheels in a specific way on all my characters, but the toggle keeps forcing itself back in and messing up the skill bar/radial wheel every single time - I have put up with it for a long time now but it's just gotten to an extremely frustrating point. I play with other mods that require toggles and once you remove them, they don't force their way back - is there a way this can be done please.
After installing this mod on PS5, my roommate who uses it says he is unable to assign specs to the origin characters he hasn't leveled up yet (as in assigned specs & such). Any tips on troubleshooting this or what may cause it? I'll poke around with his file myself later and toy with it to double check, or just wait for his characters to level up to 4. But small heads up in case it's relevant for console players. For added context, he's still in Act 1.
Any chance for future versions of the mod to include even some sort of "formation control" for your party? I have to admit I absolutely hate the default one in the game, especially once you start to go past the canonical 4 characters and your enlarged "entourage" drags around in that silly spread-out piramidal formation. I have no idea why Larian decided to remove this feature in this game, after having it in both the Original Sin titles, but fixing this would improve the user experience a lot.
Hey, minor question, but is there a way to set where the toggle does not keep reappearing in my radial? I clear the slot because I dont really need it after I adjust the limit, but anytime I load the save back up it adds it on the first blank spot available
Yeah, I'm playing as a monk so I really like to have an open slot on my main wheel so I don't have to go searching for my bonus attack unarmed strike
Are there any updates on the console update? I'm wanting to use this mod to play with my friend via crossplay, but we don't wanna start until it works.
That's what I'm saying. Every other mod I use is done, so I'm pretty confused over what's going on.
As of today, both Adjustable Party Limit and Tactician Enhanced have their latest versions available on Mac and consoles! These versions were submitted on the 25th as I said, but the nature of what these mods are makes the inherently more time consuming to QA test compared to most mods. Once I submitted my files to Larian, it was completely out of my hands.
With this mod being among the most used (as far as I can tell), has Larian reached out in any way at all? I know they're extremely busy, but other mods are getting approved rather quickly, while this beautiful creation is taking much longer than I think any of us anticipated. I don't mean to come off in any disrespectful or rude way. This is one of my favorite mods in the game as it allows me to progress everyone's personal story arc, and the banter is hilarious, so thank you for that! Much love, mate!
I actually reached out to them a few days after I submitted my console ready files. They thanked me for notifying them and assured me they were in the priority queue. In regards to why it was taking longer, my best guess is that the nature of what my mods are makes them inherently more time consuming to QA test compared to most mods. I use the past tense "was" because as of today, the up-to-date versions of my mods have been made available for Mac and consoles! They also sent me a message apologizing for the delay in getting them approved.
EDIT: I'm crying tears of joy lol. Question, though, can I download the mod, mid-game?

I have just started experiencing crashes in Balthazar's Room in Moonrise Tower, and wanted to let you know that I saw a reddit thread that seemed to indicate that the culprit was APL! https://www.reddit.com/r/BaldursGate3/comments/1k3rldn/help_my_game_is_crashing_nonstop/ Aside from APL and Tactician Enhanced I'm using: FaerunColors Better Dyeing All Camp Clothes and Dyes If there is anything on your end that you're able to look into, I'm sure it would be much appreciated by the community, just in case! Again, thank you again for letting me use all of the companions :)
Seconding this comment. Strangely enough I was able to play all the way through Patch 7 with this mod installed with no problems, not even in Balthazar's room, but now I am basically incapable of doing anything in that room without constant crashing. I'm hoping that I can push through it with constant quick saving and that everything is fine once I'm out of that room, but if not I'll have to uninstall the mod. A shame, since it's become basically a requirement for me to have in my game.
Is it possible to disable tutorial pop ups for this mod?I know its silly but it kinda ruins immersion at start for me and i know how this mod works . :)
There is a bug related to non lethal attacks being… well… lethal. It’s when I try to incapacitate Oskar. I can’t seem to get it to work. I reported it to Larian but It was stated that it’s a mod-related bug, probably related to patch 8.
While I can't speak to whether or not it's a mod related bug, as I've never encountered the issue myself, I can say with near certainty it isn't Adjustable Party Limit causing the problem. This mod only manages its own status and does not interact with the non-lethal game logic in any way.

First of all, thanks for this, it's an indispensible feature along with tactician enhanced. But I'm encountering a consistent bug now when I have more than four party members where, often during dialogue scenes, the camera will focus on the wrong character speaking and the subtitle will display the line that *should* be playing but it's just silence. Also in at least one case, this resulted in Gale and Shadowheart's models overlapping so she looks like she's growing out of his neck. It's all harmless, but very immersion-breaking. Is there a way to avoid this, or is a fix coming?
I'm playing on PC (Win11 Pro), patch 8 installed and, of course, it broke sh*. Uninstalled all mods, sh* still broken. Yesterday, I uninstalled BG3 (via Steam), manually deleted all local BG3 files, then reinstalled BG3. I then reinstalled BG3 and installed ONLY this mod, using Mod Manager and it installed APL version 3.1.0.0. I started a new game and, as soon as possible, went to camp to adjust the party limit. The icons are not there! I have used APL in the past, know well how to use the mod, but the icons are not there. When I started the game, I did get the 3 "welcome" pop-ups talking about the APL mod, so the game is aware that the mod is installed and should be available. Unfortunately, just no icons. Any ideas for me on how to get this rolling again? I love APL and just hate playing without it. It's my one must-have mod!!
The problem is now fixed, but I don't have an explanation. In fact, I'm more confused than ever. After my post yesterday, I decided to go ahead and play BG3 anyway, just without any mods, hoping that eventually I would get them working. To my shock, when I started up the new game, BG3 came up with a warning screen that I was starting the game with a *bunch* of mods that the saved file didn't have. In reviewing the "new" mods, I realized that it was the mod list I had been running BEFORE DELETING BG3 AND REINSTALLING!!!! WTF!!! I decided to go ahead and play, to see what would crash. SHOCKINGLY, everything appears to have loaded fine. I played for nearly 6 hours without any issues. APL and all of the other mods worked perfectly. I'm not happy that Mod Manager appears to keep my mod list in the cloud and not locally; in cases like this, it makes a fresh start impossible, but for now APL is working and I will take up my Mod Manager issues with Larian.
All you have to do is unsubscribe from them on modio, instead of the IGMM
I have a similar issue but when I load my save it lags like crazy and I crash.
