Information Provided Under Japan’s Telecommunications Business Act

Last updated: 2023/6/16

External transmission of User Related Information.

We and/or third-party service providers may request to transmit information about you (whether a natural person or legal entity) that is recorded in your electronic device(s) (such as a computer, laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.) (“User Related Information”) to the electronic equipment (e.g., web servers) of a third party when Amazon services (“Amazon Services”) are provided to you.

User Related Information (URI).

We use cookie ID, IP address, device IDs, advertising IDs and other identifiers transmitted via technologies such as cookies or pixels (collectively, “URI”), to recognize your browser or device, learn more about your interests, provide you with essential features and Amazon Services, and for additional purposes. Approved third parties may also utilize URI when you interact with Amazon Services. Third parties include search engines, providers of measurement and analytics services, social media networks, and advertising companies, among others. Third parties use URI to deliver content (including ads relevant to your interests), measure effectiveness, and perform services on behalf of Amazon. For more information about Cookies and how we use them, please read our Cookies Notice.

Use of URI for Third-Party Advertising Services, etc.

We provide ad companies and third-party service providers with information that allows them to serve you with more useful and relevant Amazon Services, such as Amazon ads, and to measure their effectiveness. We never share your name or other information that identifies you when we do this. Instead, we use an advertising identifier like a cookie, a device identifier, or a code derived from applying irreversible cryptography to other information like an email address. For example, if you have already downloaded one of our apps, we will share your advertising identifier and data about that event so that you will not be served an ad to download the app again. Some ad companies also use this information to serve you relevant ads from other advertisers. For more information about third-party data sharing and third-party advertising at Amazon, including interest-based ads, please read our Privacy Notice and our Interest Based Ads Notice. To adjust your advertising preferences, please go to our Advertising Preferences page.

Third Party Recipients of URI.

When you use an Amazon Service, it may include sharing your URI with an Amazon entity or affiliate, or a third-party (collectively “Recipients”). Recipients may collect your URI when you interact with their content, advertising, and/or services. The third-party recipients of URI, and the purposes of using the URI, include the following:
