Prime Minister Takaichi appears to have allowed herself to briefly join in at the expense of a cancer-stricken Joe Biden, outside the West Wing yesterday.
It isn't a wild prediction to say that despite her efforts to suck up and over-modulate her affinity for him, (the Shinzo Abe approach on steroids) indeed a day will come when she herself, or Japan as a whole, likely becomes the target of that same ritual humiliation.
